The global market for autonomous vehicles is rapidly expanding and the UK is working with US companies to get these on the streets in Britain. The UK’s Autonomous Vehicles Act, announced last year, unlocked the potential of an industry estimated to be worth up to $54.6B and creating 38,000 jobs by 2035. In his first trip to San Francisco as UK Ambassador to the US, Ambassador Mandelson joined Department for Science, Innovation and Technology Secretary Peter Kyle for a ride in a driverless Jaguar by Waymo.
