Jinmi O. is a senior technical program manager in IDC: the Infrastructure Data Center team at Meta. This role challenges him to drive complex, often highly ambiguous and high-impact initiatives to ensure Meta infrastructure and data centers have state-of-the-art, scaled capacity. Jinmi started his journey in Dubai, bringing internet access to underserved communities across EMEA. From there, his efforts to improve global connectivity and access took him around the world — from increasing internet access in Ghana with Meta’s public Wi-Fi solutions to testing mesh networks in Tanzania and India to deploying wireless access technology in Brazil. He moved to Menlo Park as an active member of the Infrastructure Enablement team. Today, he is responsible for efficiently delivering capacity through effective, detail-oriented, technical program management (tagged the IE Experience). Over the years, Jinmi has delivered new products and tooling and introduced new cutting-edge hardware for storage and AI into Meta data centers. When asked what keeps him inspired he says, “My team is full of hardworking, passionate people who want to excel in everything they do. I love how Meta encourages us to use our big ideas to make a difference. We’re celebrating #WorldWaterDay by reaffirming our commitment to water stewardship as part of our broader sustainability strategy. 💧🌍 By 2030, we aim to be water positive—restoring more water than we consume in our operations. Reducing water use in our data centers is a key part of this effort, but we also recognize the importance of supporting water restoration projects that benefit the communities where we operate. Since 2017, we’ve been involved in 30+ water restoration projects, including: 🌱 Conservation efforts that protect wildlife and natural water sources 💙 Water quality initiatives that reduce pollution 🚰 Sanitation programs that improve access to safe drinking water In 2023 alone, these projects returned over 1.5 billion gallons of water to high and medium water-stress regions. Each project is unique and designed to meet local needs. We take a rigorous, context-based approach, working closely with NGOs and water utilities to ensure long-term impact. We believe that corporate investment, cross-industry alliances, and lasting NGO partnerships are key to solving global water challenges.
