It’s increasingly clear that price transparency is in the best interest of patients and the broader healthcare ecosystem. Without transparent pricing, it's nearly impossible to measure—or address—the underlying drivers of increasing healthcare costs in the U.S. Pre-price transparency, it was nearly impossible to follow the drug value chain. 🗣️ What does the future of Benefits look like? That’s the question we posed at our first Future of Benefits Roundtable - hosted by Turquoise Health in Dallas yesterday. The discussion with healthcare leaders in the DFW area was insightful and brought multiple perspectives on what challenges and opportunities employers face as they navigate their benefits as fiduciaries. Some takeaways: ✍️ One-size does not fit all: Unique populations require intentional and unique strategies. 🏃🏻: We need innovative solutions and approaches to DPC, point solutions and others to reduce cost trend. 💳: Consumerism isn’t always straightforward: The best way to drive strong healthcare financial decisions of your population is via plan design and the benefits we set up. 🔎: Transparency is key: Transparency applies to cost, contracts, rebates, and more. Who owns the employer claims data is critical for employers to understand healthcare costs. In my experience, true solutions to healthcare challenges come from open dialogue, collaboration, trust, and transparency.
