  • Did you know that the cost of childcare for two children exceeds the average rent payment by over 50% in the US? The mental and financial stress of balancing work and raising children can be incredibly overwhelming for parents. Without adequate support, it’s no surprise that working parents are leaving the workforce in record numbers. How can forward-thinking organizations provide meaningful support for this population? And what strategies actually move the needle on wellbeing and retention? On Tuesday, April 8th, join our founder & CEO Kate Ryder and Santander's Director of Benefits Sally Krick at The Conference Board's Annual Employee Health Care Conference in New York for a timely conversation about improving care for working parents. • What does it really mean to support employees at every life stage? For Deutsche Bank, it's about creating a comprehensive approach to employee wellbeing that goes far beyond traditional benefits. Deutsche Bank has long provided best-in-class support for working parents. Already offering robust financial coverage for fertility treatment, egg and sperm freezing, surrogacy, and adoption, they recognized the need to complement this support with personalized guidance throughout the full reproductive health journey—including often overlooked areas like menopause and male fertility. By partnering with Maven, they've created a wraparound support system that offers 24/7 access to expert care across 30+ specialties and 35+ languages. They also introduced up to 26 weeks of paid leave and flexible work options for new parents, demonstrating their commitment to supporting employees’ holistic wellbeing. The results speak volumes: with more than 600 Maven sign-ups, over 36,000 interactions, and a remarkable 2.6x clinical and business ROI, Deutsche Bank has designed a program that truly meets employees where they are. And notably, 27% of users identify as male, reflecting their priority of creating a seamless, inclusive experience for their entire workforce. This is what the future of workplace support looks like. • "I think we can make [parenting] a little easier and take some of the pressure off of people—and if we can do that, there's more moments to just recognize, oh my god, I can't believe that I get to have this feeling about a person. For me, that's so magical." Maven recently welcomed Emily Oster—renowned economist, bestselling author, and founder of ParentData—for an insightful conversation about evidence-based decision making, navigating misinformation, and finding joy amid parenting challenges. Today's parents face an overwhelming amount of information and often conflicting advice about starting and raising a family. Parents deserve better. Like Emily, we're committed to empowering families with reliable, evidence-based guidance they can trust. By cutting through the noise with data-driven insights and clear guidance, we help parents make confident decisions based on evidence rather than fear—so they can spend less time worrying and more time experiencing the magical moments that make parenting worthwhile. ✨

  • Managers: This one's for you! 👋 The first few weeks back from parental leave often determine whether valuable team members stay or eventually leave your organization. And the numbers don't lie: according to the National Bureau of Economic Research, 24% of women leave the workforce in the first year of motherhood. As a manager, your actions during this critical transition period can make all the difference in helping your direct reports have a positive experience. Here are six ways you can set returning parents up for success: 1️⃣ Suggest a check-in call two weeks before their first day back. Share key updates and discuss scheduling needs, giving them time to mentally prepare for their return. 2️⃣ Remind your report about any resources that are available to them, including lactation room support if they're pumping. 3️⃣ Check your report's workplace setup to ensure their desk is prepared and technology is functioning properly. 4️⃣ Schedule a welcome-back meeting on their first day to reconnect, address questions, and outline expectations for their first few weeks. 5️⃣ Set the tone with your team by reminding colleagues to welcome the returning parent and respect their calendar boundaries. 6️⃣ Check in regularly during the first few months to ensure their transition is going smoothly and address challenges early. What approaches have you found most effective when supporting team members returning from parental leave? #parentalleave #returntowork #managertraining

Ten years ago, when our founder & CEO Kate Ryder pitched investors on the idea of a virtual clinic for women and families, she heard things like… "Don't women already have doctors?" "I'll have to ask my wife about that." "This seems like a pretty small market." Her response? Women are half our population, and they deserve better. Today, that is the headline of her profile in Inc. Magazine. Thank you to Inc. for recognizing Kate on the annual Female Founders 500 list, and for highlighting our journey from a "niche" idea to a global platform that connects more than 17 million people to the care they deserve, when they need it most. A decade after Kate built Maven, we hold her founding vision to be true: when we reimagine healthcare for women and families, we reimagine it for everyone.
