April 19 marks the 36th anniversary of the tragedy aboard the USS IOWA. On that day, an explosion occurred on the United States Navy battleship USS IOWA (BB-61)’s Number Two 16-inch gun turret north of Puerto Rico during a fleet exercise. The explosion took the lives of 47 sailors. Daniel P. Bridgette Woodford is an Associate with Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Buffalo, NY Office, where she primarily focuses her practice on Federal Employment Law. In law school, Bridgette served as the external communications editor for the Arbitration Law Review. Here, she planned the journal’s annual symposium, which focused on the impact international law in war zones has on arbitration. Bridgette developed her passion for the federal employment practice area when she worked in her law school’s Civil Rights Appellate Clinic. Here she had the opportunity to help develop a petition for certiorari with the Supreme Court of the United States on a USERRA issue.
