When native birds have been found injured, orphaned, or ill, the community turns to Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research.

About us

We are a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center serving 50+ counties in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our clinic admits more than 3,000 native wild birds every year. Most become ill, injured, contaminated, or orphaned due to human-related causes such as vehicle and window strikes, lead and rodenticide poisoning, domestic pet attacks, adherence to sticky traps, contaminated with oil, diesel, and other contaminants, and fishing line entrapment. We are open 365 days a year to rehabilitate patients with the goal of returning them to their natural habitat. We also educate the public as to how to help prevent wild bird injuries. offers educational programs for schools, scouts, and community groups. Lessons, formal presentations, and informational exhibits for community events are available upon request. Both in-person and virtual programs are available.
