We are honored to announce that Greg Stuart has accepted the permanent position of Director of Ship Management for the Marlin Fleet which serves Puerto Rico with twice weekly deliveries. Greg stopped sailing in 2020 and took on several other support roles such as LNG Engineering Manager in the office. During his most recent role as interim director over the last few months, Greg has earned our full faith and confidence by establishing strong communications and executing with urgency on critical projects. Greg’s experience as Chief Engineer aboard the Isla Bella from 2015 to 2023 enables him to provide a unique perspective of our operations. Greg is committed to our values of Safety, Commitment, and Integrity, and will work tirelessly with intensity and a clear vision to provide support to our mariners and our customer, TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico. IYKYK: Spring cleaning on the Perla Del Caribe has begun. On March 4th, the TOTE Services operations crew cleaned out the sea strainer on our twice weekly vessel services to Puerto Rico. The sea strainer collects debris from all the main raw sea water as it comes into the vessels piping.  All the ballast water, cooling water, firefighting water, process water come in from the ocean or river through that strainer. Keeping the strainer clear of all debris improves the efficiency of the water flow. Thank you to the Hudson Institute for hosting “Righting the Ship: Strengthening US Navy Shipbuilding and Ship Repair” event on February 19th, where industry leaders had the opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities to expand the US Government fleet. Chris Clark, Vice President of New Construction for TOTE Services, participated in the Shipbuilding panel where he spoke about the benefits of the VCM acquisition model and why this approach must be considered as part of the US Government’s overall recapitalization strategy. The VCM model accelerates delivery timelines and reduces the cost to the taxpayers by utilizing commercial best practices, as demonstrated by the recent deliveries of the National Security Multi-Mission Vessels (NSMV). "TOTE Services has demonstrated that we can successfully produce complex, first-of-class vessels for the Government using the VCM model”, said Chris Clark, "our proven ability to deliver the NSMVs should be a blueprint for the Navy to support the rapid recapitalization of our aging auxiliary fleet.
