🎉 Meet Valerie, our newest volunteer at The ArcSF! She’s already making a big impact as Brandon’s mentor. Together, they prepared a full meal for our Friends Like Me participants, worked in The Star Cafe, and joined us for our annual breakfast. 🌟 Welcome to our community, Valerie! We’re so excited to have you with us. If you’re interested in volunteering, we have a variety of opportunities, including mentoring, being a job buddy, being an art assistant, and more! Get involved and make a difference. Last week, Staff Vanessa and Staff Barbara attended the Bay Area Volunteer Fair, the Annual Social Impact Fair hosted by @Deloitte. It was an inspiring day learning about Deloitte's social impact initiatives, including improving educational outcomes, increasing financial literacy, providing food access, and addressing other pressing needs in the Bay Area. The ArcSF and Deloitte share a strong partnership, working closely together to support inclusion within the disability community. #TheArcSF #IDD #Deloitte #SocialImpact #Inclusion #Partnership

🌟 Stephen’s Advocacy Statement 🌟 "I really like to play basketball and go to the gym with my Arc staff. I want my Arc staff to continue to have time to do these activities with me. It is really helpful, especially when they help me play basketball in the Special Olympics." 🏀💪 Stephen and his mentor, Jason, were connected through the Peer Mentor Program, which is funded by a grant from the City of San Francisco's Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS). If you want to get involved and support individuals like Stephen, contact Barbara Streett, Volunteer Manager, at 📧 bstreett@thearcsf.org. #TheArcSF #IDD #Mentor #SpecialOlympics #CommunitySupport #DisabilityServices Image Description: Stephen on a Zoom with his mentor Jason

Shoutout to Our Star Cafe Interns! 🌟 Our Star Cafe Interns are the best! Every morning, they’re up and ready to serve hot coffee and delicious breakfast items to all. Beyond the cafe, they also support incredible events like the Rotary Club San Francisco Thanksgiving, The ArcSF Worklife, and this week’s “Dreams Can’t Wait” Annual Breakfast. This special event helps us raise funds to get participants off the waitlist and into The ArcSF, where they can benefit from life-changing programs like our Internship Program. A big thank you to Waymo for supporting our interns with free rides to the store to purchase supplies for the cafe. This week, Waymo is also helping us break down barriers by transporting some of our clients to the breakfast, ensuring everyone can be part of this amazing event! #TheArcSF #Waymo #IDD #Internship #DreamsCantWait #CommunitySupport #BreakingBarriers Image Description: The Star Cafe Interns in their aprons & taking Waymo home from the store.
