How much difference has the world’s first fully renewable package made, ten years on from its launch? Tetra Rex® Plant-based replaces fossil-based plastic with Bonsucro-certified polymers derived from sugarcane. The result is a total reduction in carbon emissions of 297,032 tonnes – and counting – for the 104 customers around the world who pack their chilled products in Tetra Rex® Plant-based. That’s the equivalent of taking 64,000 cars off the road for a whole year. As our gable-top package enters its second decade of reducing emissions, we think that’s something to celebrate! If we talk about recycling, we must first talk about collection and sorting ♻️ Because if packaging is not collected, it can’t be recycled. Cartons are recycled where collection, sorting and recycling infrastructures exist at scale. Building a circular economy means investing in adequate infrastructure and working together to give packaging a second life - transforming cartons into cardboard boxes, tissues, bags, pallets, crates and more.
