If we talk about recycling, we must first talk about collection and sorting ♻️ Because if packaging is not collected, it can’t be recycled. Cartons are recycled where collection, sorting and recycling infrastructures exist at scale. Building a circular economy means investing in adequate infrastructure and working together to give packaging a second life - transforming cartons into cardboard boxes, tissues, bags, pallets, crates and more. Tetra Rex® Plant-based is made from paperboard from Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) certified forests and other controlled sources, and from Bonsucro-certified polymers derived from sugarcane, supporting the responsible management of the world’s forests and the responsible production of sugarcane. Now, after a decade, the difference the package is making is plain to see – thanks to our customers and their sustainability ambitions 🙌 Explore how Tetra Rex Plant-based continues to set sustainability standards for chilled packaging: https://lnkd.in/ezthDWWp

What happens when cartons have done their job? ♻️ Once used, cartons can be collected and recycled into valuable materials where adequate collection, sorting, and recycling infrastructures exist at scale. The paper fibres can be turned into cardboard boxes, tissues and paper bags, while the rest can be transformed into pallets, crates and more. We’re investing more than €40 million annually to expand this capacity worldwide, ensuring every carton counts 🧃 Go with carton. The pack that protects. Recycled materials from beverage cartons are now turned into quality industrial products. Schoeller Allibert is launching a transport crate made of up to 50% polyAl – the non-paper by product of the beverage carton recycling process. Tests are currently underway, aimed at getting these crates into use at our global spare-parts distribution centre in Sweden. They will also be on display at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam from 1st-2nd April this year. This innovation marks a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to develop commercially viable products alongside recyclers across the world to expand their end market. And it won’t be limited to our warehouse alone; Schoeller Allibert is already exploring further opportunities with customers to adopt this solution too.
