🚧 Big News: Peak to Lead NEPA Study for Peña Boulevard at DEN! ✈️ After last night’s successful City Council vote, we’re excited to share that Peak Consulting Group LLC has been selected to lead the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) study, including alternatives analysis and preliminary engineering, for the rethinking of Peña Boulevard, the primary gateway to Denver International Airport (DEN). This $15 million initiative will address increasing traffic demands and improve the transportation experience for all users of this vital corridor. Led by Project Manager Chelsea Adkisson, P.E., and Principal Colleen Kirby Roberts, AICP, and delivered in partnership with industry leaders HDR and RS&H, our team also includes some of Denver’s top small engineering, environmental, and public involvement firms: CIG Public Relations, Clanton & Associates, Conventum Group, CRL Associates, Dope Mom Life, Livable Cities Studio, Maxx Impact Group, OV Consulting, Ridgeview Data Collection, San Engineering, SurvWest, and Y2K Engineering. We’re committed to working closely with the communities, residents, and businesses who depend on Peña Boulevard every day—from Green Valley Ranch to the many neighborhoods, employers, and travelers who rely on safe and efficient access to the airport and surrounding areas. This project is a critical step toward creating a safer, more sustainable, and more connected future for Peña Boulevard—and we’re honored to help shape the future of this essential corridor. Thank you to the City and County of Denver and Denver International Airport - City & County of Denver Dept of Aviation for your trust and partnership. We’re ready to get to work!

  • Happy National Surveyor's Week! We want to acknowledge the essential role that surveyors play in shaping our world. From resolving property disputes to serving as a crucial first step in construction and engineering projects, we couldn't succeed without land surveyors!   Land surveying is one of the oldest professions, dating back to ancient civilizations. Their expertise spans a wide range of skills, including geometry, trigonometry, regression analysis, physics, engineering, meteorology, programming languages, and the law.   We believe land surveying is not just a profession, it's a craft. #surveyorsweek #surveyors #critical #profession

  • SurvWest recently enjoyed the opportunity to conduct a topographic survey and QLA SUE services for Superbloom in support of The City & County Building Landscape Transformation Project. This exciting project will convert the existing non-functional bluegrass turf around the building to a diverse ecosystem of native grasses and wildflowers, which will not only beautify the area but also conserve water. These water conservation goals will also be achieved by replacing the current irrigation with a more efficient system, drastically reducing water use in that area from 1.2 million gallons a year to 670,000 gallons. To learn more about this project, see the link below: https://lnkd.in/eJjM-sUB #cityandcountyofdenver #landscape #conservation City and County of Denver

In celebration of Engineer's Week, we recognize Daryl D. Schauer, P.E., a Professional Engineer licensed in Texas and Colorado, for his outstanding contributions during his five years at SurvWest. Notably, he successfully managed the recent rehabilitation of Runway 17R/35L at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, completed in Fall 2024. This runway measures 13,400 feet in length and 200 feet in width, and it was completed ahead of schedule with no recorded safety incidents. As the Senior Project Manager, Daryl oversaw all SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) tasks, including project record management, field designations, survey file production, vehicle Airport Operations Area (AOA) permitting, AOA Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badging, and ROCIP screening and safety training for company staff. Daryl faced the challenge of minimizing taxiway and runway closures and reducing impacts on existing airport operations. He addressed these challenges by coordinating SUE Quality Level A/B field designating and test hole staff with SUE Quality Level A/B field survey staff simultaneously when access to necessary SUE fieldwork areas was unavoidable. We are grateful for Daryl's contributions to the essential role that engineers play in our lives. #engineering #engineers #engineersweek #dfw #dfwairport
