Steffen Essen, of Loveland, shares story in hopes of inspiring others to seek treatment. A timely story for April and #AlcoholAwarenessMonth. Steffen Essen used to drive to the liquor store in his pickup at 7:30 a.m., tears streaming down his face. What’s sad, he said, is he wasn’t first in line. At SummitStone and Larimer County, we believe sobriety is possible. https://lnkd.in/gVxQ2FiN

While on a recent work trip to Colorado, the stars finally aligned and I had the opportunity to tour Larimer County's Longview Campus—and I was so genuinely impressed. This remarkable facility is a testament to what’s possible when a #community comes together to invest in #behavioralhealth. Kudos to the citizens of Larimer County for supporting this initiative—it’s truly a jewel. And hats off to the SummitStone Health Partners team for being such thoughtful stewards of what the community envisioned. The work you're doing is making a real difference! The Impact Fund’s annual report is now available—highlighting the incredible progress being made across the region. #Colorado #CommunityImpact #MentalHealth #PublicHealth #LeadershipInAction #LarimerCounty

Making Waves of Positive Change: We're teaming up with Larimer County on a new project called LINC that helps people during #mentalhealth emergencies. LINC lets first responders and mental health workers share important info quickly. This helps people in crisis connect faster with their therapists, family, and others who support them. We believe in walking beside you no matter where you are in your journey. LINC shows how working together creates solutions and a better system that truly helps people heal. Learn how this new project is helping our neighbors and making good use of our community's resources.

Ensuring culturally responsive mental health care is important, and resources like those provided by 988 Colorado Mental Health Line make a difference. Juan Escobedo, chair of Colorado's 988 Enterprise Board, sat down with Univision in Denver recently for a TV interview about mental health. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s Project AWARE is a lifeline for kids facing mental health challenges. Cutting SAMHSA funding means fewer children get the help they desperately need. With Colorado already ranking 44th in youth prevalence of #mentalillness and access to care, we can't afford to lose this lifeline.
