From the moment Melissa walked through the door, she brightened the boutique with her radiant energy. Her presence not only illuminated the physical space, but also lifted the spirits of everyone within it. Throughout her entire visit, Melissa’s smile was stretching from ear to ear with each outfit she tried on – all made possible by the expertise of our dedicated volunteers, Amy and Manon. After a successful suiting session, Melissa capitalized on her growing confidence and sat down with our professional development coach, Rita, to further refine her skill set and broaden her horizons. TODAY is the LAST DAY for you to donate and help us reach our goal to ensure women like Melissa have the clothing and confidence they need to walk into interviews, secure jobs, support their families, and build a brighter future. Your support is crucial—we have $15,000 left to raise in 2024 — please donate today: link in bio or at https://lnkd.in/eMP_JY9G

Robin began volunteering as a young mom, new to the DC area, and simply looking to connect with the community. She didn’t expect to find her “why.” “I became deeply aware of how empowering women can change families, communities, and futures. Suited for Change has shown me the power of lifting up women—one woman, one suit, one story at a time.” Suited for Change has a goal to raise $60,000 by December 31, to make sure that more women have the clothing and confidence they need to walk into interviews, secure jobs, support their families, and create a brighter future for us all. In this video, you will hear more of Jasmin’s story – in her own words – and to see our work in action. We are grateful for your support which helps ensure that women like Jasmin have the clothing and the confidence they need to walk into interviews, secure jobs, provide for their families, and impact our community.

Liza's journey with Suited for Change began nearly two years ago when she made the courageous decision to re-enter the workforce after dedicating several years to raising her five children. With determination and a desire for a fresh career chapter, she turned to Suited for Change for support. Following a successful suiting session with our volunteer stylist, Margaret, Liza emerged ready to tackle her interview with style, equipped with the perfect interview suit and newfound confidence. Thanks to her new clothing and increased confidence, Liza secured a position with the United States Postal Service, and she has thrived there ever since. Thanks to supporters like you, shopping at Suited for Change goes beyond transactions; it's about making a tangible difference in others' lives.

Let us introduce you to Jasmin! Jasmin faced the daunting task of reentering the workforce after escaping an extremely abusive relationship. Forced to flee with just the clothes on her back, she desperately needed clothes as she began to interview for jobs. Her case manager at House of Ruth sent her to Suited for Change, where Jasmin first met Robin, one of our many volunteer stylists. Jasmin expected to find clothes to help her interview. She did not anticipate the confidence-building and the empowering experience that is one of the by-products of a Suited for Change experience. Jasmin “got the job!” and credits Suited for Change for being there when she needed more than an interview suit. We are raising $60,000 by December 31, to ensure that women like Jasmin have the clothing and the confidence they need to walk into interviews, secure jobs, provide for their families, and impact our community.
