Project Manager – Phased Occupancy Specialist
SPMT Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager with strong communication and organization skills who will be able to fit into an existing team on a large complex Behavioral Health project in the North Texas Region of the United States.
Specific responsibilities for this initial engagement include:
· Provide coordination input and liaise with appropriate parties during any construction activities that may impact the occupied behavioral health patients, staff, and visitors.
· This includes shutdowns, tie-ins, punch work, and post-occupancy work as required by the Owner.
· Oversee and manage all Owner permit processes for work that is to be completed in the Hospital.
· Monitor the construction activities for the occupied portion of the Behavioral Health Hospital and alert the Owner to conditions that may cause delays or acceleration.
· Attend meetings with the Architect, Engineer, Contractor or Sub-Contractors as required.
· Identify, track, and manage risks related to coordination of existing facility and construction area or in regards to closeout document retrieval.
· Communicate status and updates to the Owner regularly as needed.
Responsibilities and expectations on future engagements:
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and delivery of assigned projects. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, the Project Manager may work solely on their own or could be part of a larger team. Activities include but are not limited to:
· Project Oversight
· Scheduling
· Budget Management
· Work Performance
· Oversight of QA/QC Process
· Coordination Effectiveness
· Oversight of all Contractors and Vendors
In addition, the Project Manager will evaluate all contracts, review specifications, manage change orders, coordinate and manage regular meetings with construction/design team and owner/user group. The Project Manager is also responsible for maintaining a strong personal relationship with current clients as well as assisting in cultivating new relationships in the region.
The selected individual will be the primary client contact for assigned projects and will be expected to support and promote the service excellence ideals and culture that SPMT has become known for in the industry, with unimpeachable integrity and unwavering commitment to quality.
Desired Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have administrative project management, design or construction background, with a minimum 3 years of experience with healthcare construction projects with a hospital, health system or general contractor. Applicants must also be self-motivated with the ability to successfully manage assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
A minimum 4 year college degree in a related field is preferred.
