  • Recently, Bill Fallon, a member of the South Shore Health Foundation Board of Trustees, hosted a reception in Hingham. Longtime supporters of South Shore Health came together with community leaders to discuss the regional healthcare landscape, our response to current challenges, and the advanced care we’re able to provide at a local level. The highlight of the evening was Baba Shetty, a South Shore resident who detailed his experience at South Shore Hospital following a cardiac event that occurred in the fall of 2023. He expressed deep gratitude for the seamlessly coordinated, life-saving care he received from his friends and first responders on the scene and from our Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Learn more about the reception: https://lnkd.in/evWCtcmd We’d like to thank Baba for sharing his story, Bill for hosting this event, and all of our attendees for their ongoing support!

As you can see, girls have taken an early lead to start the year – but it's close! Patients and visitors are loving this delightful display. Thank you to Andrea, Heather, and Sarah for putting it together! We're proud to welcome more than 3,000 babies to the world each year at South Shore Hospital. • The Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at South Shore Health has an ongoing relationship with The Southeastern Massachusetts Association of Student Councils (SEMASC), a student-led organization that helps develop leaders both in and outside of the classroom. Each year since 2022, their incoming Executive Board members have worked together to create and deliver comfort baskets for our patients at the Cancer Center. SEMASC’s most recent donation of 45 comfort baskets brings the total to almost 200 baskets! The group also raises funds for the Cancer Center and has invited Jen Croes, Executive Director of the Cancer Center, to be a speaker at their last two Spring Conferences. • Our Cardiac Catheterization Lab Team recently reached a significant milestone: they performed their 250th FFRangio® case! The CathWorks FFRangio® System is a computer-based technology that uses x-rays of a patient’s heart to create a 3D model showing the size of their cardiac vessels and location of any blockages. This tool helps our cardiologists complete their clinical assessments more quickly, more comprehensively, without medications, and in a way that is more comfortable for patients In 2023, we were the first Cardiac Catheterization Lab in New England to adopt this innovative system. We’re proud to continue to bring this advanced technology to our community! Learn more about cardiac and vascular care at South Shore Health: https://hubs.ly/Q03fhKVD0
