🎉 ANNOUNCEMENT: We are honored to announce that former U.S. Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Al Gore will deliver the keynote speech at the Welcome Ceremony of SF Climate Week 2025! Vice President Gore is one of the world's most influential climate leaders, known for raising awareness through his groundbreaking documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," which shaped public discourse on climate change. His continued leadership through initiatives including The Climate Reality Project and Generation Investment Management has had a profound ongoing impact, empowering activists globally and investing in sustainable innovation and the transition to a sustainable economy. This year, SF Climate Week will gather over 25,000 attendees across more than 450 events, and has become one of the world's most important gatherings at the intersection of environmentalism and innovation. At its heart, SF Climate Week exemplifies the transformative power of community—breaking down silos, fostering cross-sector collaboration and reconnecting people through shared purpose. Al Gore’s keynote further amplifies our mission by drawing on his unparalleled experience and vision, helping to accelerate momentum in the climate movement. “Few figures in the environmental movement command the global recognition and respect as Vice President Gore does,” says Evan Hynes, co-founder of Climatebase and SF Climate Week. “His keynote amplifies SF Climate Week’s role as a lightning rod for collective action, bold ideas, and community-building at a time when the world feels profoundly divided, distracted, and overwhelmed. Gatherings like this offer a rare space for people to forge meaningful connections and generate the momentum we need to accelerate climate solutions—together.” “Each year, SF Climate Week generates even more energy and urgency for meaningful change,” says Morgan Campbell, Director of SF Climate Week at Climatebase. “Vice President Gore's participation reminds us that when we act together, our collective power is unstoppable.” Welcome Ceremony will take place: • Monday, April 21, from 4 PM -7 PM  • Venue: The Exploratorium, the largest net-zero energy museum in the U.S. and a global leader in science learning and education. Important Note: 🔹 Spots at the Welcome Ceremony are extremely limited due to venue capacity. We encourage anyone interested to apply to attend, but please note that registering does not guarantee a spot. 🔹 However, we’re excited to offer a limited number of guaranteed spots at the Welcome Ceremony to individuals selected at random. To enter the drawing for one of these guaranteed spots, simply reshare this post on LinkedIn. Request to Attend: https://lnkd.in/g57QHvdn We sincerely thank Vice President Gore and his team for partnering with us to inspire meaningful action at a time when community, collaboration, and decisive steps forward are more critical than ever. CEO, Founder of Climatebase & SF Climate Week (April 19-27, 2025) 🌎 Building community to accelerate climate solutions 💪

AL GORE is coming to SF Climate Week!! 🎉 I are honored to announce that former U.S. Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Al Gore will deliver the keynote speech at the Welcome Ceremony of SF Climate Week 2025. Late last year, when my incredible colleague Lyla Warren asked me to create a wish list of keynote speakers for our Welcome Ceremony, Al Gore topped that list—not necessarily because I expected we’d land him so soon, but because I’ve always deeply believed in aiming high, even when a goal feels slightly out of reach. Seeing this happen—Al Gore actually joining us—is surreal, humbling, and deeply inspiring. Al Gore's participation at SF Climate Week is especially meaningful and thematic. He’s courageously called out uncomfortable, inconvenient truths—like how traditional climate conferences, including COP, are often co-opted by fossil fuel interests. His boldness aligns perfectly with our vision for SF Climate Week: a truly community-powered event where the interests of the people—not oil companies—take center stage. Unlike typical conferences —which tend to be expensive, exclusive, and insider-oriented— SF Climate Week is radically inclusive. While our team at Climatebase hosts the Welcome Ceremony and a handful of other events, the vast majority of the nearly 500 events are led entirely by the broader community—democratizing opportunities for climate action and making engagement accessible to all. Personally, this moment brings my journey full circle. I vividly remember watching An Inconvenient Truth as a kid with my parents, deeply shaken by Al Gore’s message. Back then, I believed that world leaders alone would handle the climate crisis. Today, we know better. Real climate leadership emerges from the ground up—when communities rally together, break silos, and take collective action. That’s exactly the spirit behind SF Climate Week. Al Gore's keynote amplifies SF Climate Week’s role as a lightning rod for collective action, bold ideas, and community-building at a time when the world feels profoundly divided, distracted, and overwhelmed. Gatherings like this offer a rare space for people to forge meaningful connections and generate the momentum we need to accelerate climate solutions—together. HUGE thanks and congratulations to Morgan Campbell, Lyla Warren, and our entire Climatebase team for making monumental moments like this happen. Welcome Ceremony will take place: • Monday, April 21, from 4 PM -7 PM • Venue: The Exploratorium Important Note: 🔹 Spots at Welcome Ceremony are extremely limited. I hope to see you there! 🌎🎉 #climate #sustainability

🌉 #SanFrancisco will always hold a special spot in my heart. I was lucky to call this beautiful and ever-evolving city home for nearly 7 years — a place where creativity flows as freely as the fog rolls in. Climate action and impact have always been part of the city’s DNA, and I’m especially proud that our team will be on the ground in just two weeks for SF Climate Week (presented by Climatebase). Scope Zero is hosting not one but TWO events! If you’re in town, be sure to stop by and connect with our team. 👩👩👦👦 Event 1: How HR Leaders Can Drive Corporate Sustainability Tuesday, April 22 @ 5:30 PM https://lu.ma/yzqt7go6 🍻 Event 2: Calling All ESG Leaders & Employees Who Care About Climate Wednesday, April 23 @ 5:30 PM https://lu.ma/yyouitf4 And just for fun, here are some recent snaps I took across The Golden City.

Writer, Director, and Founder of Serotonin Creative Consultancy

As SF Climate Week 2025 approaches, I’ve been thinking back to last year when Serotonin Creative Consultancy hosted one of San Francisco’s very first Sustainable Fashion Exhibitions. We brought together some of the sharpest minds in fashion, textiles, and design to tackle the climate impact of the industry head-on. What came out of it? Real conversations. Bold ideas. And a collective push toward a more sustainable future in clothing. Here’s to building on that momentum 🥂: https://lnkd.in/eZPAmd4G The recording of the first panel discussion is out now on my podcast Darts in the Dark focusing on Materials & Brands leaning into Sustainability Hosted by Samata Pattinson of BLACK PEARL: Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/drcpkccZ Panel 1 Speakers: Dr. Bernice Pan Pan, CCO of DEPLOY London Eric Liedtke, CEO and Co-Founder of UNLESS Collective Elias Stahl, CEO and Co-Founder of HILOS Heather Podoll, Partnership & Advocacy Coordinator of Fibershed Located at the historic Hibernia SF, we had a great intro from Tyrone Jue 🌎 from San Francisco Environment Department, DJ Bisi Obateru spinning music and keeping the vibes going, sustainable wine poured by Cynthia Lohr of J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, hors d'oeuvres by Katie Reicher Executive Chef of Greens Restaurant SF, 2 panel discussions, and 2 runways focusing on sustainable garment solutions and a curated a Brand Pavillion featuring Booths/Tables/Exhibits, including: INVERSA Leathers DEPLOY London HILOS San Francisco Fashion Refiberd Kosa Arts Summer Solace Tallow Now, Mira Hapsari has taken on the effort and built on our success of last year, turning the event into a full-blown platform called Rethink the Runway, which is now leading the sustainable fashion revolution where climate action meets creative innovation and community power. Join them on April 18th for their epic Half-Day Retreat: Exploring Regenerative Food & Fiber Systems https://lu.ma/7b4clacr Thank you to Morgan Campbell, Lyla Warren, Evan Hynes, Jesse Hynes, Justin Hardin, and the whole SFCW team for creating the platform and infrastructure to foster all this momentum. And a huge thank you to the entire Serotonin team for doing what you do every day. Helping me bend the trajectory of culture and business to become forces for good. We are collectively building the systems and communities affecting real change and impact. I cannot be more excited for what's to come in the next week. Onward, ~Casey
