Yesterday RMS Foresters Jack Adams and Cassidy McCarty hosted Dr. Rachel Cook and the NCSU Silviculture class on a tour of our managed lands. Here they are talking about stand establishment on coastal plain sites at one of our recently established plantations. RMS is honored to play a part in helping educate the next generation of foresters.

On this World Wildlife Day, we celebrate one of our most recent collaborative efforts in reintroducing the Reticulated Flatwoods Salamander to our managed land in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Our forests host a rich variety of species, making them diverse ecological systems that provide habitats for plants, animals, and organisms. Species conservation is an important dimension of sustainable forest management and one that RMS believes must be viewed through the dual lens of responsibility and risk management. Congratulations to the Resource Management Service, LLC (RMS) on the successful reintroduction of the federally endangered reticulated flatwoods salamander on private land in northwest Florida! 🐸 In partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and others, RMS released 50 larval salamanders, marking a historic conservation milestone. Making History Together! RMS has teamed up with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Gulf Coastal Plain Ecosystem Partnership (GCPEP), The Longleaf Alliance, Eglin Air Force Base, and Naval Air Station Whiting Field for a groundbreaking conservation milestone: reintroducing the federally listed Reticulated Flatwoods Salamander back onto our managed land in Santa Rosa County, Florida. This historic event is more than just a release; it's a testament to the power of trust-based partnerships. With no regulatory risk to landowners or neighbors, this initiative Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program sets a new standard for future reintroductions on private lands nationwide. Our efforts in the Southeastern U.S. showcase the immense flexibility the Endangered Species Act offers and prove that collaborative, innovative conservation strategies are the keys to a sustainable future. Conservation work in the Southeastern U.S. is not just about conserving and restoring one of the most biodiverse places on Earth; it is also about transforming culture to better address the existential threat of species endangerment and extinction. Resource Management Service LLC (RMS) has been awarded the first-ever President’s Award at the 2024 FSC North America Conference! This prestigious recognition, an evolution of the annual Forest Stewardship Council U.S. Leadership Awards, highlights RMS's exemplary contributions to sustainable forestry. FSC US President Sarah Billig, who presented the award, emphasised RMS’s remarkable conservation and restoration efforts, stating, “Their work is a cut above, with a dedication that’s evident the moment you step into their forests.” Alex Hinson, President and CEO of RMS, expressed pride in receiving this honour, attributing it to the hard work and passion of their team, as well as the unwavering support of their investors. Approximately 40% of RMS's managed land – totalling around 900,000 acres (about 364,217 hectares) – is certified to the FSC US Forest Management Standard by Preferred by Nature.
