If you're in the renewable energy space today, some headlines may make you feel like you're not making a difference. But you are: For the first time, fossil fuels generated less than 50% of the U.S. power mix for the month of March. The dip in oil, gas, and coal was driven by an increase in solar and wind production. So, ignore the headlines. Keep up the great work. You are making a difference. #DriveEnergyForward. https://lnkd.in/ezCib-t2

ILSR just released its updated 2024 State of Distributed Solar report! The highlights: --In 2024, of the 32 new gigawatts of solar capacity installed, 17% (5.4 GW) was distributed throughout communities. --In 23 states and the District of Columbia, approximately one in every 25 households now has rooftop solar (a state distributed solar saturation of more than 100 watts per capita). This is two more states than in 2023. --Community solar is gaining momentum in existing markets and new states. Check out the distributed solar highlights for your state! #DriveEnergyForward https://lnkd.in/gejbNqbw

According to the Energy Information Agency (EIA), U.S. solar will have 153 GW of capacity installed by the end of 2025. "In 2026 it expects another 19.5% growth in cumulative capacity in 2026, reaching 182 GW. This growth represents a doubling of cumulative solar capacity in the United States in just three years. The figures from EIA mark a slight upward revision from its forecast released last month." #DriveEnergyForward https://lnkd.in/ddes7cdv

"Unlike large-scale generation projects that can take a decade or more to build, community solar projects are typically online in 12 to 18 months, powered by private capital, built in the communities they serve, and designed to use existing distribution infrastructure, including farmland, rooftops, and underused industrial sites. Community solar lowers electricity bills for renters, small businesses, and low-to-moderate-income households while providing grid resilience benefits that put off costly reconductoring." #DriveEnergyForward https://lnkd.in/gvzH9Qb7

Renewable Properties reposted this
Last week, Renewable Properties co-hosted an EV fleet demonstration and educational panel in Santa Maria, California with SMRT, CalFleet Advisor, the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District, Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The event was covered by the Santa Maria TV news and featured FedEx, PG&E, and Santa Barbara County Parks electric vehicles. The expert panel was held at the future site of RP’s Santa Maria electric fleet charging hub located at Fairway and Skyway Drive, which will go live in 2026. I want to thank RP’s Jeff Palmer and Richard Raeke for organizing. Also thank you to our event partners for contributing their EV charging infrastructure insights and helping us to #DriveEnergyForward! https://lnkd.in/guGZHiBV
