An EPIC turnout last night at our PDX GIS Day at Ecotrust. Several hundred - yes, HUNDRED - attendees to network, socialize, and hear a fantastic voyage-of-experience talk by Julie Stringham from Metro. It was really magical. Special thanks to our sponsors The Gartrell Group , 3J Consulting, NV5 Geospatial, Jarrett Walker + Associates, Parametrix, ECOnorthwest, Cascadia Partners, Portland State University Geography, Greentop, Portland Community College Geospatial, and Ecotrust Not to mention the volunteers, who really make these events work!

Looks like GIS Day has blossomed into GIS WEEK! I'm excited to attend a couple of events for the 25th Anniversary! Both use #GIS in some of the most sophisticated ways in the region. The 12th annual PDX GIS Day at Ecotrust’s Irving Street Studio on November 20th! It’s incredible how quickly 25 years have flown by in the GIS field, and I am really looking forward to connecting with fellow GIS enthusiasts. One of my favorite people is the evening's keynote speaker, Julie Stringham from Metro. And tomorrow is the City of Portland's event sponsored by ORURISA - The Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter of URISA Emerging Professionals. With an afternoon lineup spanning the different Bureaus and just a few of the ways they use the technology. See you there! Be Smarter, think Geographically!
