Great conversation at StartUpNOLA's Scaling Health Innovation in Louisiana panel this week. Thanks to moderator Aimee Quirk and fellow panelists Trivia Frazier, PhD, MBA, Jared Quoyeser, and Scott Simeone! Key takeaways: ✨ Louisiana's legacy fuels healthcare innovation ✨ New capital injection from SSBCI & LED’s $50M fund ✨ Vital ingredients for startup growth: larger funding rounds, deeper partnerships ✨ Overcoming healthcare challenges through trust and innovative home-based care ✨ Healthcare startups' unique challenges: slow decisions, fragmented systems, and trust-building, especially in home-based care. I'm so proud that Nest Health was among Ochsner Ventures' first innovation fund investments and grateful for their support! #HealthcareInnovation #NOLA #LifeintheNest

We’re beyond proud that Nest Health's co-founders, Rebekah E. Gee MD MPH & Rebecca Kavoussi, have been named to Inc. Magazine’s Female Founders 500 list for 2025! As we celebrate #InternationalWomensMonth, this recognition is a testament to our co-founders' mission to revolutionize healthcare for families. The reality: Less than 2% of venture capital goes to female founders. Meanwhile, women-led companies deliver higher returns and drive impact at scale. Nest Health is proving that investing in women, families, and better healthcare access isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s the smart thing to do. To every female founder breaking through barriers, and to every investor who believes in real change: this one’s for you. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eAeHhXZJ https://lnkd.in/ej6aXnTU #FemaleFounders500 #FemaleFounders

We've been celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth here at Nest Health by shining a light on some of our incredible teammates who make Nest who we are — taking the opportunity to celebrate our Black colleagues' contributions, recognize their impact, and amplify their voices. We're closing out the series today by spotlighting Auriel Hulin-Atwater, MMS, PA-C, our Physician Assistant in New Orleans. Here are a few words from Auriel's manager, our Louisiana Medical Director, Dr. Katie Brown: "Since joining us ten months ago, Auriel has brought a strong passion for patient care and lifelong learning to the team. She is an incredibly compassionate and approachable provider. And for the families who are lucky enough to have her as a provider, she spends time getting to know them personally, understanding their barriers to care and the difficulties that they are experiencing in day-to-day life, and finding ways to help them both through Nest and on her own. When I overhear Auri speaking with her patients, I can feel the impact that she has made with these families. They are so comfortable with her and very appreciative of the care they are receiving. Thank you Auri for all that you do for your Nest families!!" #LifeintheNest #NestCares

The future of our country depends on the health of our children. So why isn't child health a national priority? This JAMA Viewpoint article pulls together decades of research showing what we’ve known for years: the U.S. is failing its children. Almost half of children in this country rely on Medicaid and CHIP, yet funding, access, and innovation remain stuck in the past. Chronic illness and mental health struggles keep rising while public health solutions lag behind. If we want healthier futures, we MUST rethink how we care for families, starting today. 🚨 We rank among the lowest of wealthy nations in child health outcomes 🚨 Medicaid & CHIP, which cover nearly 50% of children, are underfunded and inconsistent across states 🚨 Chronic illnesses & mental health disorders in kids have skyrocketed over the past 50 years 🚨 Public health & school-based programs lack funding and fail to reach families who need them most. Fixing a broken system means bold action like: ⭐ Medicaid & CHIP reform to improve funding and access ⭐ Real accountability at the federal level to make child health a national priority ⭐ Investment in and scaling of home-based, family-centered care models to meet families where they are Nest Health is already proving that a better way is possible. We built the first scalable, value-based model that delivers comprehensive family care at home. Parents shouldn’t have to fight for basic healthcare for their kids. By bringing care into the home, we’re closing gaps, building trust, and improving outcomes for the whole family. Kids can't wait for us to get this right. And neither can their families. #NestCares #childhealth #medicaid #healthequity #valuebasedcare #healthcareinnovation
