Updates

  • Outdated technology remains a significant challenge for most emergency call centers. According to the NENA: The 9-1-1 Association / Carbyne Pulse of 9-1-1 Survey, more than three-quarters of ECCs have experienced service outages that impeded 9-1-1 calls. Fewer than 27% can communicate over text messaging services. Only 24% can accept incident imagery, such as live video. The technology and standards needed to bring Next Generation 9-1-1 to every community are readily available. What's missing is the funding and political leadership to get it done. Contact your local elected officials to express your concern ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eVkjiREa Find the survey results here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3VOYh4h . . . #NextGen911Now

  • NENA joined with the National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators in calling on Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to preserve a role for the National 9-1-1 Program Office within the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In a letter sent to the Secretary this week, we jointly urged that the program not be in line for future reductions or eliminations. If that office is eliminated or cut further, public safety in our communities will be at greater risk of preventable loss of life and property.
