  • April is #NationalVolunteerMonth so we're saying thank you to some of our awesome volunteers - meet Melissa and Remy! Melissa is a registered veterinary technician who works at Tremont Animal Clinic. She volunteers at our Wellness Clinics one Saturday a month, which provides support to our visiting vets and allows us to continue offering preventative care and wellness exams to our members. When she's here, her son Remy joins her, volunteering by bagging food for our Pet Food Pantry. We are so thankful for their time and support! #TakeCareOfEachOther

  • It’s #VolunteerMonth and we’d like to introduce our newest volunteer vet, Dr. Rebecca Lazarus! Dr. Lazarus is a Veterinarian at West Park Animal Hospital, and she recently started volunteering at our Wellness Clinics once a month. She grew up in Mayfield Heights, received her bachelor's degree from Kent State University, and went to The Ohio State University. She studied behavior, preventative medicine, low-stress vet visits, and feline medicine. When she’s not working or volunteering, Dr. Lazarus spends time with her dog, Truly, and her three cats, Lucie, Vinnie, and Peepers. She also enjoys being outdoors, traveling, cooking, and cheering for the Guardians. We’re so excited to work with Dr. Lazarus! Because of her work, we’re able to continue offering Wellness Clinics to our members, an important way to make preventative care more accessible. #TakeCareOfEachOther

  • Did you know March 23rd is National Puppy Day? 🐶🐾 We see puppies almost every day here at Neighborhood Pets. We offer new pet owners a Puppy Pack as a resource to help them with any questions they might have about their new family member! A brochure included in the pack offers information about socialization, crate and house training, vaccine schedules, and more. We also include a goodie or two, like a fun puppy toy to help with all that puppy energy!  We are here for pet owners in Cleveland, to answer any questions they have about raising their new best friend. By providing this support, we help pet owners gain confidence and rest easy, knowing they’re giving their new family member the best care possible. #TakeCareOfEachOther

  • Our mission at Neighborhood Pets is to #TakeCareOfEachOther. The new PALS program, in partnership with Benjamin Rose, is just one example of how we are working with human services organizations to expand the care we offer to Clevelanders in need. Check out Frank Lewis’s story in Signal Cleveland that dives into the PALS program and other program partnerships we’re making to help people and their pets get the care they need.
