What an amazing opportunity!
Los Angeles Police Department ~ Captain Professional Speaker 1st Vice President NAWLEE.org Board of Trustee LAWPOA.org
A few weeks ago I attended the annual Legendary Ladies luncheon at the LAPD Police Museum. A BIG thank you to Jake Bushey for allowing me the honor of holding a piece of history; the original badge of Policewoman Alice Stebbin Wells. I also spent time with Sharon Papa who is truly a legend! Sponsored by the Los Angeles Women Police Officers & Associates (LAWPOA) thank you for reminding us all of how far we have come. Having lunch with the 1st women to go through the police academy in 70s was truly a gift. Their stories are a reminder of my WHY! 💙 30x30 Initiative National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we at NAWLEE want to honor and celebrate the remarkable women who have broken barriers, led with courage, and paved the way in law enforcement and beyond. This month reminds us of the importance of continuing to uplift and support women as leaders, change-makers, and trailblazers in our communities. At NAWLEE, we’re proud to empower women in law enforcement and to be part of a future where there are no glass ceilings left to shatter. Let’s keep the momentum going beyond March—together, we can inspire the next generation of leaders. 💙 #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInLeadership Gina V. Hawkins Julie Rodriguez Lynette Falzone Cherise G. Women’s History Month is ending—but our work is just getting started. This March, we released Milestones and Momentum, highlighting real, measurable progress—like a 28% average increase in women recruits at agencies completing the 30x30 pledge. We celebrated stories from departments across the country and were reminded: true transformation takes all of us—including the many men standing beside women in this work. And we’re not slowing down. Looking ahead, we’re: 🔬 Expanding research to understand and scale what works 🤝 Deepening partnerships that drive change—and building new ones 📣 Elevating women’s voices and leadership in public safety, year-round 🎉 Celebrating women who lead with courage and vision 📍 Heading to the NAWLEE Conference, where we connect, learn, and grow together The momentum we’ve built is only the beginning. Let’s keep advancing, supporting, and uplifting women in law enforcement every day of the year.
