Big Congrats to Kate! Kate just crushed not one but two major certifications—passing both her NASM Certified Nutrition Coach and NASM Certified Personal Trainer exams! 🎉 We asked her a few NASM-related questions to learn more about her journey: NASM: Who inspires you in the fitness space? KATE: Rachael DeVaux (@rachaelsgoodeats), because she’s a CPT and Registered Dietitian. She’s made a healthy lifestyle fun and attainable, which has been a huge inspiration to me! NASM: What’s your go-to workout formula? KATE: A pyramid circuit, followed by a HIIT circuit, plus a few minutes of stretching at the beginning and end. NASM: If you could focus on one area of training, what would it be? KATE: My back muscles! As a student doing lots of sedentary work, I want to improve my posture and build the strength to crush my pull-up goals. NASM: What’s a personal fitness achievement you’re proud of? KATE: Beyond becoming a CPT, I’m proud of how much I can lift—especially in back squats, leg presses, and bicep curls. I started lifting at 15, and my younger self would be so impressed by how far I’ve come! Drop a 🥳 in the comments to celebrate Kate! Congratulations to Dara on officially becoming an NASM Certified Personal Trainer! 🎉 After moving abroad, she recognized a need for English-speaking trainers in her new community, so she took matters into her own hands. Now, she’s helping clients locally and online while sharing her passion for mobility and strength training. Get to know more about Dara and her approach to fitness: > NASM: If you could train with any fitness expert or athlete, past or present, who would it be and why? >> Dara: "Flojo—Florence Griffith-Joyner, the legendary 100m and 200m sprinter. Her records have stood the test of time, and I’d love the opportunity to strength-train and run with her." > NASM: What’s your go-to workout when you’re short on time but want to feel accomplished? >> Dara: "Bodyweight strength training! A 10-minute circuit of burpees, lateral lunges, bicycle crunches, and triceps dips, finishing with 5 minutes of mobility, is my quick and effective workout—especially when traveling." > NASM: If you could only focus on one muscle group for the rest of the year, which would it be and why? >> Dara: "Glutes! I’m working on strengthening them to become a more efficient runner, using lots of squat, lunge, and clamshell variations." > NASM: What’s a fitness goal you’ve achieved that you’re most proud of? >> Dara: "Completing a triathlon! The swim was my biggest challenge, so finishing the entire swim-bike-run was a huge accomplishment for me." > NASM: If you could only do one type of exercise for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? >> Dara: "Squat to overhead press—it’s my favorite compound movement because it recruits so many large muscles, making it super efficient." > NASM: What’s one wellness tip you swear by that has made a big difference in your daily routine? >> Dara: "Proper hydration! Drinking enough water and electrolytes throughout the day helps with performance before, during, and after exercise."
