A familiar message returned from last year’s summit when Cecilia Holden reminded everyone, “There’s one word that describes economic development. What is that? Education.” Her refrain echoed across this year's panel as she laid out an update on North Carolina’s ambitious education goal: 2 million residents aged 25-44 holding a postsecondary degree or industry-recognized credential by 2030. https://lnkd.in/eQeGXb9X

We are excited for NC Reconnect to launch its fifth cohort–creating new opportunities for adult learners to return to the classroom, secure in-demand jobs, and strengthen North Carolina's workforce. By earning their degrees, these learners improve the quality of life for themselves, families and communities across the state. We're proud to be part of this joint effort with the John M. Belk Endowment and myFutureNC and look forward to hearing success stories from Carteret Community College, Halifax Community College, Isothermal Community College and Southeastern Community College - NC.

It was great to connect the Sequoyah Fund, Inc. and Industrial Opportunities, Inc. —two organizations deeply committed to supporting entrepreneurs and investing in our community. We had a rich and thoughtful conversation about what it really takes to build strong, local ecosystems that fuel rural prosperity and entrepreneurs’ dreams. Grateful to the NC Rural Center 2025 Rural Summit for being the place where these connections began. Relationships matter. Rural matters. Hometowns matter. Excited about the energy around WNC collaboration and what’s ahead! #InvestInRural #RuralMatters #2Millionby2030

Gratitude is the word that best describes how I feel about being involved with this dynamic partnership. It's an opportunity that will provide students with access to local pre-apprenticeships, opening pathways to success in their very own communities. These youth apprenticeships offer invaluable hands-on experience, skill development, and a direct connection to future career opportunities. Initiatives such as this is what we at myFutureNC advocate for because we see the value that it provides citizens and their familes!! Thank you Victoria Hamill for including us!!!
BeauPros held its first kickoff meeting Thursday and welcomed students from Southside, Washington, and Northside High Schools. This pre-apprenticeship program connects talented Beaufort County high school students with area businesses looking to develop their next generation of skilled professionals. Students learned about the program overview, the history of BeauPros, and industry partners. BeauPros brings together Beaufort County Schools, Beaufort County Community College, and local business partners, including MJM Yachts, Oak Ridge Industries, Carver Machine Works, Inc., and Modlin Electric, Inc.

Great work, Buncombe County Schools !!
🌟 Buncombe County Schools' FAFSA Support Day 🌟 What an incredible day! Buncombe County Schools hosted an outstanding FAFSA Support Day, and I couldn’t be more impressed by the dedication and collaboration that made it a success. Families showed up determined to secure the best path forward for their students, navigating technical glitches and the sometimes overwhelming FAFSA process with the support of an amazing team. A huge shoutout to Kelley Hubbell Adams with Buncombe County Schools for organizing such an impactful event and to the incredible partners who made it happen: Buncombe County Schools counselors, College for North Carolina (CFNC), Land of Sky P20 Council, Western Carolina University, University of North Carolina Asheville, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Montreat College, and Mars Hill University. Your commitment to helping students and families take the next step toward higher education is truly inspiring. Together, we’re helping students and families build brighter futures! 💙 #2Millionby2030
