The Kenton County Fiscal Court has approved a $26M apartment project, The Bavarian, to be built atop the County’s new parking garage in Covington. This partnership with Merus (the next era of Al. Neyer) and Urban Sites will bring up to 125 residential units, ensuring the site’s optimal use and adding vitality beyond business hours. Construction is set to begin once the garage is complete later this year. The County’s new 248-space garage, replacing parking lost to the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project, will serve the Kenton County Government Center and the surrounding area. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reimbursing up to $15M for the garage’s construction. "Preserving the historic Bavarian Brewery site was the first step in revitalizing Covington’s 12th Street Gateway,” said Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann. “Now, The Bavarian will build on that progress by bringing new energy to the area.”

Rock Nashville is moving right along—panels are up, roofs are on, and exterior finishes are in progress. Inside, MEP work is wrapping up and tenant build-outs are underway for Soundcheck Nashville and Clair Global. With around 130 people on site each day, we’re on track for a Q4 2025 completion.

Thursday was another fantastic day at the Susan Sargen Student Enterprise Program (StEP) store at C.O. Harrison Elementary. On Thursday, students were welcomed by a wonderful team of volunteers from Merus (the next era of Al. Neyer)—Amanda, Sam, Center Emerging Leaders board member Brett Kron, and Center board member David Okun—as well as The North Side Bank & Trust Company, with Adrianna, Kearsten, Madison, Anna, Marty, and Brooke (back for her second day!). Roblox gift cards are always a hot seller at C.O. Harrison, with more than 75 sold at StEP stores there this quarter. Stuffed animals were another big favorite—275 students took one home! But what really stood out was the smart decision-making. Many students earned an extra $75 off their purchases by completing a bonus activity in their StEP books. That savings helped them stretch their StEP bucks to afford something special AND make a donation to The Scratching Post Cat Shelter, CO’s chosen charity. Thank you to all our volunteers for making this hands-on financial education experience possible! #StudentEnterprise #FinancialEducation #volunteering
