Why does this matter? Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSMs) are crucial in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and aerospace. They offer high efficiency and power density. However, they are prone to demagnetisation, inter-turn short circuits (ITSCs), and eccentricity faults, which can significantly impact performance and reliability. What’s inside this paper?
