The Cabrillo College concept emphasizes community-focused design. At the heart is the "Promenade Village," where sloped roofs and pedestrian-friendly elements articulate the main circulation path. Two indoor sky lounges serve as key architectural features where they frame the termination of the pedestrian promenade. At the community’s entrance a daycare building for student families is designed as a distinctive landmark, with iconic expression that ties into existing buildings on the campus.  #studenthousing #communitycollege #architecturedesign   It was an honor to team up with The Michaels Organization, McCullough, and CBG Building Company to envision this design.🌳💙

We’re thrilled to share that David McCullough, ASLA, PLA was featured in CoStar discussing the iconic "Hobbit House" apartments in Culver City. These whimsical, storybook-style residences, designed by a former Disney artist, capture the fairytale charm that once defined Los Angeles' architectural landscape. As David shared: “These hand-made houses are surreal, contrasting starkly against the often-manufactured character of Los Angeles’ architecture.” With their organic forms, handcrafted details, and rich history, these spaces remind us how design can transport us to another time and place.
