February is #LowVisionAwarenessMonth and we couldn't let it come to a close without properly introducing an incredible member of our talent community. Meet Lachi ♫, a Blind recording artist and disability culture advocate based in NYC. In addition to being a musical powerhouse and fashion icon (seriously, check out her Grammy's outfit), she is a Grammys Board Governor and the Founder and CEO of RAMPD aka Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities.

Another amazing Grammys in the books!! 🥂 Brought african realness, black girl joy and disability pride to the red carpet wearing this royal Studio D'Maxsi dress and a matching Glam Cane! And for the fourth year RAMPD, helped bring accessibility to the Grammys through sign language interpretation from Pro Bono ASL, and for the first year ever, we had ASL at the premier ceremony! Let’s GOOO progress 💯 It was surreal to be seated beside LA firefighters who worked tirelessly to save lives. Huge shoutout to MusiCares Foundation for activating the music community and raising funds for LA wildfire relief. It was and is always an honor to have brought our RAMPD family together in force, in the room, to celebrate music in a major way! What a night of community, resilience, and historic wins. What a powerful night of community, healing, support, and resilience! The RAMPD x Live Nation Entertainment DisCo House, sponsored by PopOut LA and SoundSplore , raised funds for Crew Nation e.V.'s efforts to support those impacted by the wildfire. I am ever grateful to Jon B. and Chantel Diaz for their tireless efforts making this event possible, and for bringing real, fundamental change in how the live entertainment industry understands the needs of the disability community! We had 12 Pro Members under one roof, Grammy nominees and winners, culture leaders like Molly Burke and Eileen Grubba , industry leaders from every entertainment sector, all coming together for the most important thing our industry needs in times of crisis - Community, Fellowship, and Interdependence. RAMPD is honored to announce that we will present at NAMM 2025 on Navigating Disability & Neurodivergence in the Music Industry! ✨🎉 Join us on Friday, January 24 at 11:30 AM PT at the Anaheim Convention Center. Moderated by CEO Lachi, the panel features President Precious Perez, producer/engineer Joey Stuckey, and mariachi artist Ivan Estrella. RAMPD will also have a presence at the NAMM Museum. ASL interpretation will be provided. RAMPD will also be featured in a NAMM's Museum of Making Music exhibit. (Our first!) called Music unity. Happy NYE! 2024 was THE iconic year for our mission to infiltrate pop culture with disability narratives! Let's dig in: We started off the year being named USA TODAY Woman of the Year and ending with a billboard in Times Square courtesy of ADCOLOR Conference and Awards and The Walt Disney Company! While I am always humbled and grateful to be recognized for my work, the greater honor is that I get to DO this work - using pop culture to amplify disability narratives to mainstream discussion while bringing game-changing opportunities to music professionals with disabilities. Filled with red carpets, music releases, award wins, White House visits and beyond, SO much happened this year. Shoutout to all the people and places that made this year one to remember. Oh and Team Lachi is cooking up some big stuff for 2025, including a tri-continental tour, so don’t go anywhere! Christmas at The White House ! 🥂 It's been an honor to represent Disability Culture at the highest house in the land so many times these past few years. Someone asked me if the next administration invited you, would you go? Absolutely! The work never ends, and our dignity, autonomy and ingenuity always deserve voice, representation, and a seat at the table. I am hopefully this coming administration will continue to respect the voices of disabled Americans, and I would be honored to be invited back by this new leadership to continue the progress we've made so far!
