This morning, Codi and Rachel from our KQ Futures team visited TRY & LILLY LIMITED in the Fabric District and had the privilege of trying on some of their innovative headwear. The specialist manufacturers of hats and caps will soon be hosting visits from schools and colleges across the Liverpool City Region, as part of our Future Innovators Days. These inspirational visits are just one element of our #KQFutures programme, part-funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Innovation Zone. About us
KQ Liverpool is a 450-acre urban innovation district and is home to some of the world’s most influential players in science, health, technology, education, music and the performing arts. With over £1bn of new developments currently underway – and a further £1bn in the pipeline – we plan increase the city’s employment figures, improve graduate retention and attraction rates and establish Liverpool at the forefront of the Northern Powerhouse. This unique mix of science, medicine and culture, combined with KQ Liverpool’s stunning architecture and its proximity to the heart of the city, has already attracted the Royal College of Physicians who have chosen KQ Liverpool as the home for their new Northern Centre of Excellence. The KQ Liverpool team is tasked with defining, creating and promoting the place and occupies the dynamic space between ambition and delivery. We believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, which is why we bring together the city’s key partners to collaborate in a creative environment, allowing us to not only discover and present opportunities but to respond to them quickly. We provide consistent messaging, a single point of contact for investors and businesses and through the ‘power of place’ foster clustering, networking and knowledge transfer.

A fantastic accolade for one of our Partners, having been named as 'University of the Year'!
We're thrilled to announce that the University of Liverpool has been awarded the prestigious title of University of the Year at the Educate North Awards. 👏 Judges praised the University’s impact, and University Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Jones added: “This is a huge honour for the University, and I’m delighted with this fantastic win. We are proud to have made important progress in all major international and domestic league tables over the last year and, indeed, we are the only Russell Group university to improve across all five. This, together with our strengths in education and experience, research and innovation, internationalisation, and economic impact really set us apart." Congratulations to everyone in #TeamLivUni for making our University everything that it is! 💙 Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/e5RHgup4 #EducateNorth #ENA2025

Had such a great time at the Innovate UK Talent and Skills Connect Annual Conference today. Some really inspiring talks from Tech She Can, The Careers & Enterprise Company and Resilliance to name a few. It's fab to see how much work is being done across the UK to inspire future generations into STEM related work. Talent pipelines are extremely important for economic growth and nurturing this talent is something we call get involved with, no matter what sector we are from. Today has reassured me that we are on the right path with the work we do at Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) and I look forward to connecting further with some of the fantastic people I have met today. Together we can make great things happen! Measuring the impact is something that was discussed a lot today and I have lots of ideas now on how we can showcase the amazing regional work we do within Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. Special shout out to Codi Ellis for being her fantastic self as always and lovely to meet Nakia Bentham, James Phipps and Jamie Sloan.

🤩 We are celebrating 10 Years of Economic Impact - Over £100 million generated for Liverpool City Region thanks to our AMAZING ambassadors! 🤩 Since we started, together we have successfully attracted more than 100 prestigious conferences and events, bringing 56,000 delegates to the region and showcased Liverpool on a global stage. Our powerful network leverage their influence to bring colleagues and peers to the city they love. Our Chair, Howard Lewis said "When events come to Liverpool, the entire city benefits – from hotels and retail to hospitality and taxi drivers. It's rewarding to know that Liverpool's reputation as an exceptional place to do business is being talked about worldwide as a result of hard work and collaboration. Club Liverpool brings together a remarkably diverse network of ambassadors from across various sectors, all united by a shared vision and purpose." When an ambassador identifies a potential event, we provide comprehensive support, from submitting expressions of interest and preparing bid documents to coordinating site visits, finding suitable venues and suppliers and providing an accommodation booking service. These dedicated support services are offered completely free of charge. Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director, Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership, commented: "In drawing global recognition, conferences provide a platform from which to shout about our strengths, and they ultimately have the potential to support trade growth, attract talent, and encourage investment. The impact of the work over these ten years cannot be overstated. We look forward to the next ten years of continuing to position Liverpool as a world-class destination for business and academia." Events brought to the city by the ambassadors during 2024-2025 include the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology Annual Meeting, The 12th International Conference on Fluvial Hydraulics, European Low Gravity Research Association Biennial Symposium & General Assembly, European College of Equine Internal Medicine Congress, International Beam Instrumentation Conference and the 10th World Congress of the International Academy of Oral Oncology.
