Last week Elevator 485 was placed in service and the Northbound Control Area N319 was opened back up to the public after renovations at Northern Blvd Station. Our engineers work on unique and impactful projects across North America, including the recently completed Moodna Viaduct project. Located northwest of New York City, this historic steel railroad trestle bridge was originally built over a century ago by the Erie Railroad. Today, it is owned by Norfolk Southern and its iconic structure still carries daily freight and Metro-North Railroad passenger traffic. Our engineering team served as the design lead on a project to replace timber ties on the bridge deck. Due to the bridge’s dimensions (over 3,000 feet long and almost 200 feet high) and historic nature, the project presented special challenges, but our engineering staff collaborated across multiple disciplines and regions to bring the project to a successful completion. As our design lead on the project, Adam Halls, said, "It was really exciting to take a part of history and be able to build a brand-new project literally on top of that." #EWeek2025 #railpros #engineeringcareers

The on-schedule reopening of PATH's Hoboken Station follows a 25-day closure that allowed for critical infrastructure improvements as part of the $430 million PATH Forward program. “We welcome riders back to a revitalized Hoboken station, where the closure has enabled a huge amount of refurbishment,”— Rick Cotton, Executive Director, Port Authority This closure made significant upgrades possible, including new stairs, fresh paint, improved signage, and essential track repairs. Thanks to round-the-clock work, what could have taken over a year of disruptions is being completed in under a month. While some minor work is ongoing, the station is open to the public.
