Our engineers work on unique and impactful projects across North America, including the recently completed Moodna Viaduct project. Located northwest of New York City, this historic steel railroad trestle bridge was originally built over a century ago by the Erie Railroad. Today, it is owned by Norfolk Southern and its iconic structure still carries daily freight and Metro-North Railroad passenger traffic. Our engineering team served as the design lead on a project to replace timber ties on the bridge deck. Due to the bridge’s dimensions (over 3,000 feet long and almost 200 feet high) and historic nature, the project presented special challenges, but our engineering staff collaborated across multiple disciplines and regions to bring the project to a successful completion. As our design lead on the project, Adam Halls, said, "It was really exciting to take a part of history and be able to build a brand-new project literally on top of that."
