  • Ann Moyer's compassionate approach to health care makes a real difference for patients. As a clinical pharmacist in our Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program, she strives to make things simpler. Ann recalls a patient who was struggling to keep track of his medications. To help simplify his routine, she designed a color-coded system, making it easier for him to stay organized and on track. “At his next appointment, he came back and said, ‘This is so easy.’ It was a much more positive visit because he didn’t feel as overwhelmed,” she said. And her dedication extends beyond her role. A few years ago, Ann noticed that many Midway Clinic patients weren’t properly equipped for Minnesota winters. She started a coat drive, rallying her colleagues to donate. Ann is a partner for good—working to remove barriers to medication adherence and proving that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

  • Sometimes our patients aren’t quite ready to go home, even though they're healthy enough to leave the hospital. That’s where our swing bed program comes in. A "swing bed" is a hospital bed designed for multiple uses. It allows patients to stay at the hospital to continue recovering from an injury, illness, or surgery, with access to 24-hour nursing care and specialized services not typically available elsewhere. Our swing bed program recently earned the team a 2025 General Medical Surgical Critical Access Hospital Award from the Wisconsin Hospital Association. The recognition recognizes hospitals that are taking innovative steps to improve patient care and experience. Discover more about our swing bed program and its benefits: https://bit.ly/3R4pPih

  • We're thrilled to announce that Nico Pronk has been honored as one of Twin Cities Business magazine’s Notable Health Care Leaders! Nico is our chief science officer and president of HealthPartners Institute, our research and education arm. Nico's recent achievements include leading the National Academy of Sciences' Roundtable on Obesity Solutions and helping redesign the process for developing U.S. dietary guidelines. Last year, HealthPartners Institute published more than 400 articles, abstracts and posters and trained more than 800 physician residents and fellows across the HealthPartners system. We also implemented new, innovative fellowships for advanced practice clinicians. These fellowships help young physician assistants and nurse practitioners gain experience and more training, which improves satisfaction and reduces burnout. Congratulations to Nico and all the honorees for this great recognition!

  • We're proud to support the next generation as they engage with important issues. Members of the HealthPartners Teen Leadership Council (TLC), a teen-led group of high school students from the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin, recently attended Youth Day at the Capitol in St. Paul. Sponsored in part by HealthPartners, this annual event gave them the chance to listen, network, and advocate for important causes. They met with our Government Relations team to learn about policy careers and gain insight into speaking with legislators. “The experience was very engaging and fun!” said one participant. “It was cool to have a down-to-earth conversation with the representatives and be able to have a voice.”

  • We’re proud to share that three of our hospitals have earned national recognition from the Chartis Center for Rural Health. Olivia Hospital & Clinic and Westfields Hospital & Clinic were recently named Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals for 2025, and Hutchinson Health is among this year’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals. Chartis determines these lists by assessing various factors that impact hospital operations and outcomes, including quality, patient experience and financial results. This year’s awards speak to the hard work and compassion of our care teams, as well as their consistency. Westfields is celebrating its 10th consecutive Top 100 recognition, and Hutchinson has extended its win streak to four years. We’re so proud of our award-winning teams and the work they do each day to improve the health and well-being of our patients and communities.
