About us
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Membership in Girl Scouts is open to girls in grades K-12; women and men over the age of 17 can join as adult members. Girls join for fun and friendship, but they also learn about building character and self-esteem and serving their communities—the core qualities of Girl Scouting. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives – like strong values, social conscience and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. Proud partner of United Way.

We're starting this week off by congratulating Reagan, a 2024 graduate of Kirkwood High School, on completing her Gold Award project. After discovering that more than 75 percent of people with Alzheimer's Disease also suffer from anxiety, Reagan was inspired to help develop a solution that can calm those suffering from the disease, like her own grandmother. Reagan got to work creating fidget blankets for patients with Alzheimer's at a local nursing home, BETHESDA DILWORTH, to help soothe and relax the patients, ultimately decreasing their anxiety. Read more about Reagan and her project here:

Friday Joy: Last evening, I had the opportunity to end my week with a powerful reminder of the importance of the mission-driven work we do! The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Community Troop Program team hosted their inaugural Sneaker Ball for the girls served through the program. It was an evening filled with moments of more than 400+ young girls singing, dancing, laughing, and playing freely—without any concerns. They were innocent, beautiful, carefree, and it filled my heart with so much joy! I watched moms, dads, grandparents, and other caretakers enjoy the moment of watching the girl(s) in their lives walk so confidently in their fancy attire. It was pure joy for me and the fuel I needed after a long week. Once again, it offered a chance for us all to reflect on what truly matters — the girls! And why we do the work we do to create opportunities for all girls to be built with courage, confidence, and character. Kudos to the Community Troop Program, GSBB, staff, and volunteers that led, coordinated, or worked collaboratively to ensure a successful event last night. It was a memorable night for these young girls and so much fun for all! We're soaring higher - let's go!💚 #livelaughlove ##girlempowerment #futureleaders #communitybuilding #spreadjoy
