Throwback Thursday! In celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year, we are sharing some photos of our early construction on the Housing building, which was the former St. Gerard's School building, and also a photo of the groundbreaking. We converted the classrooms to fourteen apartments, plus added a community room with a kitchen and offices for staff. A realized dream!

💫 We want to introduce you to one of our original "Dreamers" as we continue to share stories in our 25th anniversary year. Sr. Pauline is one of the founders of Gerard Place, often referred to as the “dreamers.” These dreamers, sisters from twelve Congregations of Women Religious in the Diocese of Buffalo, created Gerard Place to house homeless women and their children on the East Side of Buffalo. She has stayed active volunteering in many ways since we opened in 2000. We encourage you to click to read more about this incredible woman and her impact on our organization and community.

We are so grateful to our community partners like OneBridge Benefits! Your team continues to show up and help us carry out our mission in the community in many ways. Thank you!
🏡 Another successful day of serving Buffalo in the books! 🏡 Last week, members of the OneBridge team spent the day with Gerard Place on the East Side, helping to set up their summer picnic, organizing clothes for donation, and filling grocery bags to hand out to members of the community. One of our favorite organizations to partner with each year, Gerard Place provides housing, supportive services, community education, and outreach to homeless individuals and families. Of those they've helped, over 90% have not returned to homelessness! Learn more about how you can support Gerard Place, and the Greater Buffalo East Side community, by visiting gerardplace.org. #volunteer #community #onebridgebenefits
