We recently brought our entire team together from across the Southeast and had to capture the moment with a few behind-the-scenes photos!📸 Amidst the planning and preparation for our rebrand, we prioritized taking a step back to connect during our 2025 Team Retreat. A special thanks to Jeremy Fleming for joining us and taking these amazing photos. We had a great time together at Flywheel Coworking and are so thankful for the friends who joined us. In the busiest seasons, pausing to align, reflect, and plan for the future is essential. We’re grateful for this time together and the momentum it has given us as we move forward together as GPS. P.S. We even had time to have a surprise baby shower for Barkley Owens, MA! Is that a GPS onesie? Absolutely! Last month, Kamber Parker Bowden had the honor of speaking at the South Carolina Environmental Conference (SCEC), the premier event for water and wastewater professionals in the state, hosted by the SCAWWA WEASC. With more than 2,000 industry professionals in attendance, Kamber led a standing-room-only session on a critical topic: how to effectively transfer knowledge from experienced generations to emerging leaders, and how succession planning can shape the future of the workforce. Thank you to the South Carolina Water Associations for the invitation and to everyone who joined the conversation! As always, it was a pleasure to reconnect with clients like Highfill Infrastructure Engineering, P.C. and others doing meaningful work in this space. #generations #workculture #workplace #retention #attract #millennials #genx #genz

Loved this episode of The Great Retention! It perfectly sums up a lot of floating, unconnected thoughts & opinions I’ve had about integrating learning and students’ professional development. It’s great to have knowledge, but unless you can APPLY said knowledge to your work and the world at large, it’s not that impressive. That is why work based/experiential learning is such an integral element of students’ professional development. Students can apply curricular knowledge, theories, and best practices to an industry and/or specific protocols. It accelerates thinking critically and creative problem-solving. AI is a great tool and it’s something we’ve been encouraging students to look at as they develop their application materials, but it’s not the end all & be all. Unless you can apply your learning and think critically about how your experiences apply, using AI can ultimately be a disservice. The practice of putting together a resume for a specific role prepares you for a future interview— 💭How can I cater my past experiences & skills to the role for which I’m applying? 💭How do my relevant skills connect? 💭How do my “non relevant” skills connect? 💭In what instances have I used these skills that are not captured on my resume? 💭How can I emphasize the value I bring to the role/organization? At any rate, that’s one specific takeaway and thought I’ve been noodling on. There are so many in this episode… Further evidence that #Communication & #CriticalThinking remain paramount as integral & durable skills needed to excel! How can we as teachers, coaches, counselors, parents, or leaders help others understand the importance of knowledge application & articulation of skills? 💭
When it comes to leading a workplace, “winging it” just doesn’t cut it. This week on our final episode of the season, Kamber Parker Bowden sat down with Marcus Hamaker, CEO of [bu:st] USA "boost", to explore the way that strong internal systems can maximize a team’s productivity *and* satisfaction. In this episode of The Great Retention, they discuss: ➡️ Why getting to know your team is the number one ingredient in successful leadership—and what you risk if you skip this important step. ➡️ How creating foolproof systems can empower you to steer with a steady hand, no matter what storms your business faces. ➡️ Leadership and mentorship trends from around the world, and how you can leverage them to create a truly empowered team. Don’t get caught flying blind! Whether you’re a leader looking for tried-and-true systems to set your team up for success, or you’re looking to approach your job with more confidence, this episode has you covered! How do I even begin to put this into words? (Long post alert) Last night, more than 120 people came out to celebrate the next chapter of The YoPro Know. What started seven years ago as a one-woman blog has grown into a national workforce strategy firm—complete with a generationally diverse team of six, an incredible network of partners, mentors, trusting clients, and a powerful network. That includes YOU! 🎉 Introducing our new name: Generational Performance Solutions (GPS) We’re here to guide organizations through one of the most defining challenges of our time: navigating generational dynamics to drive retention, leadership, and team performance. Whether you're managing hybrid work, preparing your next generation of leaders, or working to retain your best talent—we’ve built the tools and strategies to help you succeed. The reason for the name change is simple: the mission outgrew the name. With an initial focus only on young talent, we realized we were missing two critical parts of the workforce: experienced/senior leaders and professionals - and our future workforce. Those members of Gen Alpha and dare I say - Gen Beta - that will one day be a part of our organizations. The new name puts us in a position to make more of an impact, expand our reach, and drive more innovation for the future of work. I’d be lying if I said this hasn’t been emotional. YoPro Know has been my entire professional career. And while the business is not going away (just the name!), it still feels monumental. I have poured myself into this business for nearly a decade, and watching it evolve into what it is today is…just a lot to process! Seeing clients, partners, and even original interviewees travel from out of town for last night’s launch was overwhelming in the best way. Over the years, we’ve shared the stories of more than 10,000 professionals across generations. Those stories have helped companies grow, helped leaders shift perspectives, and created a ripple effect of impact across the country. So, what's next? Our goal is to reach 100,000 companies with the GPS Talent Impact Process. We’ve already partnered with over 2,000. With new strategies for growth and scalability underway, we’re just getting started. What sets GPS apart from other generational consultants is our data, our process, and our people. To everyone who’s followed along, invited us to speak, introduced us to your networks, or just been cheering us on—thank you. If the first 7 years of the business were any indication, the next 7 at GPS are bound to be extraordinary. We’ve built something meaningful—and now, it's time to evolve. In a time of workforce uncertainty, people still matter most. Are you ready to build a workplace where every generation thrives and performs? Check out our new brand, our updated offerings, and join the movement: https://lnkd.in/em-q7prR Jeremy Fleming Photos Courtney Beasley-Widmer + Christine Moore-Bonbright who brought the new brand to life
