Excited to announce a successful kick-off with the gBETA Alaska Spring 2025 cohort powered by gener8tor! Takeaway: Get startup founders accustom to decoding hieroglyphic puzzles on Day 1, so that on Day 2 cap tables and vc math feel like a breeze. Background: We started Day 1 with some group bonding and a challenge, including an escape room that had founders deciphering hieroglyphic riddles in a "recently discovered" pyramid tomb. Talk about uncanny timing with recent archeological news! Needless to say, we made it out of the tomb. Not only did this become a great testament to the cohort's problem solving skills, but also their ability to work on a team. Afterwards, the cohort spent the evening relaxing and celebrating at a local brewery with gBETA alumni and mentors who make this program possible 🙌 . That all was just a warm up, of course. ⚡ Alumni Spotlight: Score Pharma, Inc. (gBETA Huntsville Alum) has been selected for the initial cohort of the Alabama BioManufacturing Labs and as a finalist in the Alabama Launchpad competition. 👏 Score has been selected for the inaugural cohort of the Alabama Biomanufacturing Labs, receiving non-dilutive, in-kind support to help scale their impact in the life sciences. The initiative aims to stimulate biomanufacturing in Alabama, potentially leading to the establishment of a biomanufacturing facility in the state. And that’s not all: They are also a finalist in the Alabama Launchpad competition, with the chance to secure a $100K non-dilutive grant in the Life Sciences category. Finalists will compete within their designated industry tracks, pitching their ventures to exclusive investor committees in a closed-door setting designed to prepare them for future conversations with investors or customers. We’re beyond proud to see this team making waves in the ecosystem.
