For nearly four decades, the Robert and Margaret Folsom Institute in the Cox School of Business has been the driving force behind real estate education at SMU. A hub for market-research and student engagement beyond-the-classroom, the Institute builds solid foundations for success in this ever-evolving industry. SMU graduate students Andrew Allsup, Guy Kellogg, Nick Krauter, and Andrew Lukacs showcased their skills on the national stage, competing against 15 elite teams in the invitation-only UNC Kenan-Flagler Real Estate Development Challenge. This prestigious case competition provided hands-on experience in real estate development, financial analysis, feasibility, and design, with teams receiving real-time feedback from industry leaders. The team competed against some of the nation’s top business schools, including UCLA Anderson School of Management, The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Columbia Business School, University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, Harvard Business School, Rice Business, Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Texas McCombs School of Business, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business, Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, and NYU Stern School of Business.
