A look back at the Euronext Annual Conference! 🎙️ Anne-Christine Champion, Co-Head of Global Banking and Investor Solutions and a member of the Executive Committee at Societe Generale, was a panellist at the #EAC2025. She emphasised the urgent need for a more integrated European equity market to support transformations. Comparing the size and liquidity of U.S. and European markets, she noted that while European banks hold assets equivalent to 220% of Europe’s GDP, the U.S. banks manage assets equivalent to only 86% of their GDP. She also discussed the finance sector’s pivotal role in driving transformational change, including the #AI revolution, demographic shifts, and the energy transition. 📽️ Watch the full interview! • Last week, Amsterdam was the place to be, featuring our vibrant networking evening with clients on the new in-house rooftop terrace at Beursplein 5, home of #EuronextAmsterdam, and the 15th edition of the FOW Trading Conference, with Euronext as platinum sponsor. The conference was a valuable opportunity to connect with industry peers and gain insights into the market trends, challenges and innovations shaping the #derivatives and #clearing landscapes. Roberto Pecora took part in a panel discussion on European futures and options, where he shared perspectives on: 🔹 How Euronext is addressing evolving market demand and investors’ needs with its derivatives offering, including the expansion into fixed income derivatives, the launch of Euronext Nord Pool power futures market, the broader range of equity derivatives with new European options, and its strong agricultural commodities franchise, #EuronextMATIF. 🔹 Increased investors’ trading activity amid geopolitical uncertainty and shifting global economic outlook, resulting in growing volumes on cash equity, European single stock options, and continued demand for commodities and fixed income. 🔹 #Euronext’s contribution to reducing market fragmentation with a comprehensive value chain across listing, trading, clearing, settlement and custody. Key milestones include the successful migration of Italian markets to the Optiq trading platform and the expansion of clearing services to Euronext Clearing as the sole #CCP for all Euronext’s seven markets, providing greater efficiencies to the benefit of investors. 🔹 Future innovations including short-maturity products to answer growing retail demand, digital asset indices, and thematic investments, with AI as a key enabler driving the transformation of post-trade activities. Charlotte Alliot led a fireside presentation on ‘Unlocking Growth for European Retail Traders’ with a focus on: 🔹 Euronext’s expansion into fixed income derivatives with the launch of mini-sized, cash-settled futures on main European government bonds, set for September 2025. This new offering will enhance accessibility and flexibility for both retail and institutional investors, providing them with more granularity for hedging and taking exposure to government bonds. 🔹 Euronext’s educational programme on derivatives #trading launched in 2024 in collaboration with market players and specialist platforms. Through interactive webinars and dedicated content, this initiative aims to empower retail investors with the knowledge and skills to better navigate derivatives trading, especially options. 🙏 Thank you to everyone who joined us. See you next year - same time, same place, in Amsterdam!

  • Euronext Clearing has just returned from two days at the Collateral Management Optimisation Summit in London - an event with plenty of thoughtful discussion. A key theme across the sessions was the role of #triparty agents - particularly how firms can derive the benefits of TPA infrastructure while clearing through CCPs, striking a balance between efficiency and control. Our Head of Sales and Business Development for Derivatives and Clearing, Janina Marks, gave an expert talk, offering a clear and practical take on how the landscape is shifting and what that means for market participants navigating today’s #collateral challenges. For #Euronext, the event was a great opportunity to share how our expanded cleared #repo offering and collaborations with leading TPAs support firms with transparency, simplicity, and stronger funding frameworks. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/esAGZGnu Thanks to all the partners and clients who the team caught up with across the two days. Lottie Griffiths Christopher Anderson Archana Varshney
