Water scarcity isn’t a distant threat—it’s happening now. By 2030, global freshwater demand will exceed supply by 40% (World Resources Institute). This #WorldWaterDay, we’re committed to protecting the water we drink and securing a sustainable future. Here’s how we’re making a difference. 💧

Transforming #WasteToEnergy to help protect the air we breathe, water we drink and soil that feeds us.
📢 TreaTech’s Innovative Waste-to-Energy Process Also Destroys Recalcitrant PFAS ◆ TreaTech's innovative catalytic hydrothermal gasification (cHTG) process converts waste streams like agricultural wastes, chemical wastes, industrial food waste streams, and biosolids into renewable gas and clean water. ◆ The cHTG process brings the waste into supercritical water conditions (400 °C, 250 bar) and passes the waste through a catalytic reactor that converts organic carbon molecules to a methane-rich gas. ◆ Recent testing on a model feedstock amended with several types of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) confirmed the following: PFOS, PFOA, and PFBS were destroyed >99.8% each under unoptimized conditions. ◆ Complete destruction of these PFAS was confirmed via measurement of speciated PFAS, fluoride, and adsorbable organofluorine. A full fluorine mass balance was achieved. ◆ The cHTG process shows excellent promise at destroying PFAS in PFAS-rich wastes, as well as wastes that incidentally contain PFAS. TreaTech continues to optimize the cHTG process to achieve PFAS destruction in a variety of wastes. #PFAS and #microplastics are two growing environmental concerns, and a recent paper highlights their presence in wastewater effluent and landfill leachate. While reducing upstream use is the ideal solution, rising plastic consumption makes this a challenging goal. Fortunately, treatment technologies are available to mitigate impacts for wastewater, landfill leachate, and biosolids. Reach out to ECT2 or myself if you’d like to discuss solutions and insights! https://lnkd.in/g8ESf5HU

💧 ✈️ Excited to present this afternoon on behalf of ECT2 and our #AFFF Transition technology at the NEC/AAAE conference. 🚒 I'll be joined by Steve Pepper from CTEH. He'll be presenting on fire water capture planning, helping those in the audience to think about #PFASmanagement if an incident were to occur. 💦 Richard Sanchez, MBA from Revive Environmental will be presenting on stage as well to go over disposal options for #AFFF, #rinsate, and #PFASdestruction. 🛬 If you're at #NECAAAEHershey25 please swing by at 3:30.
We hope everyone is enjoying the 2025 NEC Airports Conference! 🎉 It’s been a great start with plenty of learning and networking. Don’t forget to share your experience and photos on social media—tag us and use our hashtags to stay connected! ✈️ #AirportsConference25 #NECAAAEHershey25

#PFAS contamination requires fast, flexible and effective treatment solutions—and mobile systems are playing a growing role not just as stopgaps but as integral parts of long-term remediation strategies. David Kempisty, Ph.D., P.E. and the Montrose team are at the forefront of mobile PFAS treatment, helping clients rapidly deploy solutions that adapt to evolving needs. Thanks to Global Water Intelligence (GWI) for spotlighting this critical topic! https://lnkd.in/enz8hBh8 #WaterTreatment #EnvironmentalSolutions

ATTN: Wastewater Treatment Plants. Our R&D team is proud to introduce a novel technology, NanoSORB(TM), that allows the efficient separation of PFAS (including short-chain PFAS and other contaminants) from the influent, which produces significantly less waste while dramatically reducing your plant upgrade costs and that fits within your existing footprint. We are honored to have been selected by Sydney Water to assist them with their drinking water PFAS challenge. Please see their update below on the initial results of our installed mobile system and a quick shout out to 7NEWS Australia for their story. #PFAS #DrinkingWater #PFASRemediation #Montrose #WaterQuality
Our newly commissioned mobile PFAS treatment unit at Cascade Water Filtration Plant (WFP) has reduced PFAS levels during the first month of the trial. Recent testing indicated water processed through the mobile PFAS treatment has reduced PFAS levels below the proposed new Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG). The $3.4 million mobile PFAS treatment plant, which treats four megalitres of water daily, will be used for up to three years as part of a comprehensive strategy to treat water in the Blue Mountains catchment. Using granular activated carbon (GAC) filters and ion exchange technology, the mobile PFAS treatment plant harnesses the latest technology to significantly remove PFAS from the water. Before the mobile PFAS treatment plant was installed, the water produced at the Cascade WFP complied with the current ADWG. This mobile PFAS treatment plant will ensure compliance with the new proposed guidelines. Drinking water produced at our other 8 water filtration plants complies with the proposed new PFAS guidelines. We will continue testing the treated water at Cascade to provide the Blue Mountains community with confidence in the quality of their drinking water and to demonstrate our commitment to delivering water that meets the highest standards.
