We're proud to support the Office of the California Surgeon General’s Strong Start & Beyond initiative, using predictive modeling and digital tools to improve maternal health. Together, we can make pregnancy safer for all. https://lnkd.in/enQVaeEp
Preventable maternal deaths are still far too common, but they don’t have to be. Between 2019 and 2021, California lost 226 mothers to pregnancy-related causes. More than 80% of these deaths could have been prevented. That’s why the Office of the California Surgeon General (OSG) launched Strong Start & Beyond, a bold initiative to cut maternal mortality in half by 2026. I had the honor of speaking at the OSG’s Maternal Health Summit: Improving Cardiovascular Health, where leaders from across the state came together to address this crisis. At Delfina, we are deeply aligned with this mission, leveraging predictive modeling and digital health tools to improve outcomes for mothers and babies. We all have a role to play in preventing maternal deaths. Read my latest blog to learn more about Strong Start & Beyond, how Delfina is supporting this work, and how you can help. https://lnkd.in/gUrryCJS

Happy World Doula Week! The U.S. maternal health crisis is a complex challenge, but doulas are playing an increasingly vital role in improving outcomes. By offering continuous physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth, they help birthing people achieve the healthiest and most satisfying experience possible. Research shows that doulas: • Reduce the risk of low birth weight by 4x • Lower pregnancy complications by 2x • Help address racial disparities in maternal health, particularly for Black women This week, we recognize and thank all doulas for their critical contributions, with a special shoutout to our Delfina Doulas.
