⭐ Celebrating Leadership for Women's History Month ⭐
This Women's History Month, I am proud to highlight the incredible leadership of Savanna Ellis, M.A.C., Senior HR Generalist at Compass One Healthcare.
Savanna recently celebrated 8 years with Compass One Healthcare in February, a journey that started with Crothall Healthcare as an Office Manager. At that time, she was uncertain about the direction her career would take after leaving the television advertising industry. However, within just a year, she quickly outgrew that role and was promoted to Training Manager. In this position, she discovered a true passion for helping others navigate the challenges of starting a new job by creating a solid foundation and orientation program.
When the account contract ended, instead of seeking opportunities outside the company, Savanna chose to pivot into the HR field, an area that had always interested her. This decision led her to Morrison Healthcare, where she began her career as an HR professional. This intentional move ultimately paved the way for her current role as a Senior HR Generalist for the Compass One Healthcare New Business Team. In this role, Savanna has found great passion and purpose. She continues to be a welcoming face within the organization, striving to embody the leadership qualities she admired when she first started with the company eight years ago.
Along the way, a previous leader once asked Savanna, “What is your why?” Initially, she struggled to answer, but over time, the question became clearer. Her “why” is to lift the ceiling for women in the workplace. As an HR leader, Savanna is committed to working and living in a way that uplifts women, encouraging them to believe they can do the same. She is dedicated to paving the way for women in leadership, an area she felt was previously underrepresented at Compass. Over the course of her 8 years with the company, Savanna has witnessed tremendous progress. She now finds herself surrounded by intelligent, strong, and creative women who have cultivated a workplace where she feels she belongs and where the possibilities are endless.
Outside of work, Savanna finds joy in her creative outlets, particularly the art of crafting beautifully arranged cheeseboards and planning events, both big and small. She is currently planning her biggest event to date—her upcoming wedding, where she looks forward to celebrating with her closest family and friends in Mexico in April 2025.
