We’re delighted to reshare Anderson T. announcement about the Blue Zones Challenge and celebrate this powerful step toward helping our community live longer, healthier, and happier lives. Our mission goes far beyond traditional caregiving by empowering individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s or related dementias to live fully while fostering better brain health and building meaningful social connections.
Why This Matters
• A Way of Life
The Challenge encourages eating more whole, plant-based foods—an approach closely linked with overall well-being. It’s also about moving more naturally every day, socializing with purpose, and reflecting on what truly fuels your sense of fulfillment.
• Evidence-Based & Built to Last
Backed by decades of research from the longest-lived communities in the world, this challenge offers an approach to self-care that pays dividends for life. It’s a chance to reflect, recharge, and reconnect, cultivating habits that spark longevity and happiness.
• Intergenerational Inspiration
This intergenerational model has the power to unite people through shared wisdom, fresh perspectives, and collective motivation—proving that everyone, at every age, can thrive.
• Purpose & Community
Blue Zones research shows that living with a sense of purpose and strengthening social networks (“moais”) can transform overall well-being, reduce stress, and foster resilience—particularly important for care partners and those facing memory loss.
We look forward to supporting Dr. Torres and all participants as they embark on these eight weeks of transformation. Here’s to championing a more vibrant, connected community—where everyone can reflect, recharge, and live life with purpose. Stay Tuned for much more to come!

Blue Zones impacts Brain Health and me in the Bronx
With passion, gratitude, and innovation, I’m excited to share that, thanks to the consideration and generosity of Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh Tornatore-Mikesh Kind and the Bue Zones, I will be participating in this groundbreaking nutrition model.
I will also be involving members of my older adults in this one-of-a-kind initiative at R.A.I.N. in addition to a local High School for an Inter-generational experience. It’s important for our youth to be educated in better eating habits while engaging with older adults in their community. The program has a strong focus on nutrition, complemented by a holistic approach to body, mind, and spirit.
More details will follow at an upcoming press conference. For now, I leave you with this exciting news! I will be updating shortly.
Apologies for the wind gusts by me.
