Every April we are proud to recognize #AYAware Week and join with the larger cancer community to shine a light on the unique experiences and needs of adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients and survivors. While we have supported the AYA community for decades, last year CAC launched two new channels on our website for people specifically early in their career. These collections of articles cover relevant topics for people at work (https://lnkd.in/e7jNjcyh) or looking for work (https://lnkd.in/eFiyYg-S). We will continue to grow these channels and complementary programs through this year and beyond, including sharing insights from our 2025 Early Career Needs Assessment Survey. Dale Bildhauer underwent five weeks of radiation, five months of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries to treat colon cancer. When he felt strong enough, he continued to work through treatment as a live-in custodian at Gannon University. "I had to go at a slower pace, but Gannon supported me on everything." UK Radio host Chris Stark returned to work this week and revealed he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. While he initially chose not to disclose to his listeners or co-workers, he is now using his platform to raise awareness of testicular cancer and encouraging listeners to screen themselves.
