Dr. Ro and the OLAY team used 70 years of skin and formulation expertise, numerous clinical studies and research partnerships with dermatologists to test and develop OLAY Super Serum with the right levels of ingredients. Head & Shoulders BARE took home an award for Best in Class Package Circularity, highlighting its innovative ecobottle, which uses 45% less plastic versus traditional bottles and is fully recyclable, including the cap! Olay's Indulgent Moisture Body Wash was recognized for continuing this brand’s commitment to creating accessible, user-friendly products and building on related innovations that include easy-open jars, Braille labels, and high-contrast designs. Altogether, outstanding accolades reflecting the commitment these brand teams have to delivering high-performing skin and hair care products that are also inclusive and sustainable.   • Impactful work by an insightful team: Head & Shoulders’ Analytics and Insights team was recently recognized by the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF)’s David Ogilvy Award for research- and insights-driven advertising. The insights they discovered about dandruff care habits and routines led to Make Every Wash Count, a campaign that positively resonates with consumers by reinforcing the importance of treating dandruff as an ongoing concern rather than an occasional one.     "If I could wave a wand for my scalp, I would end flakes, dryness, and itchiness.” Consumers consistently shared this with our Head & Shoulders team. Every brand campaign at Procter & Gamble starts with understanding our consumers. By understanding their daily lives, behaviors, and needs, we can create better, more superior experiences for them. As Head & Shoulders listened closely to consumers, they found many were treating dandruff like an occasional issue rather than a persistent one. Research revealed that 50% of users didn’t use anti-dandruff shampoo with every wash, leading to recurring issues. Consumers described using anti-dandruff shampoos to treat dandruff in a similar way they would take a headache medicine—only after a headache comes on. This insight inspired the "Make Every Wash Count" campaign. By leveraging innovative research methods, including our Connected Home platform and AI-supported tests, the team learned that consistent use of Head & Shoulders is crucial to breaking the cycle of dandruff. Now, how to bring this insight to life in an entertaining and engaging way? Bring in NFL legends Patrick Mahomes and Troy Polamalu in an engaging edu-tainment campaign. Since its launch, the campaign has exceeded expectations, driving significant growth for Head & Shoulders. This success underscores the power of integrating innovative techniques with traditional research to uncover deep consumer insights.   • Last week at the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists, a leading scientific conference for the beauty industry, P&G Beauty Hair Care R&D Vice President Jennifer Marsh PhD shared a new approach to more fully characterize botanical oils that’s helping create better-performing hair care products.    These research findings were used to develop Herbal Essences’ new Aloe and Camellia Oil hair care collection.     On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Look Good Feel Better Foundation will host the BeautyCares DreamBall Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City. The gala and auction are the most important fundraising events benefiting the beauty industry’s Look Good Feel Better program. The funds raised will help thousands more cancer patients look in the mirror and find themselves again, improving morale, sense of control and confidence during treatment. This year’s gala will feature impressive industry honorees, including Tarang Amin, chairman & CEO of e.l.f. Beauty and Michelle DeMartini Wlazlo, EVP/chief merchandising, and supply chain officer at JCPenney, as well as other esteemed guests (more to come!). Celebrating its 35th anniversary, LGFB is proud to have served more than 2.4 million cancer patients in 27 countries across six continents. Since 1989, LGFB has provided free, empowering support programs and services that help people with cancer regain their sense of self through free in-person and virtual workshops and digital resources. The BeautyCares DreamBall raises crucial funds to support LGFB’s vital programs and initiatives.     Old Spice, Native and Secret are introducing a new way to tackle body odor: the whole body deodorant lineup! Hygiene expert Maiysha D. Jones, PhD, who has worked in P&G’s deodorant lab for 13 years, explains how the technology distinguishes itself from P&G's other types of deodorants. “Different from our regular deodorants that are designed and tested for use on armpits, whole body deodorants are designed and tested for use on pits, privates and more,” said Dr. Jones.
