Branding + Marketing. To know truth, to make beauty, to do good.

About us

Atomicdust is a brand and design consultancy. We’re dedicated to solving business problems through strategies, identities, experiences and environments that are as purposeful as they are beautiful. ____ Design is a conversation between a brand and its audience. We believe a clear, focused message comes first. We craft meaningful conversations for our clients that reach their audience in relatable and resonating ways. With a sound, strategic voice in place, we give even the most complicated, technical business-to-business brands room to show, tell, share (and yes, even sell) their strengths. We build compelling, emotional stories that inject clarity and beauty into brands, making them more accessible. And successful. Branding | Websites | Marketing Services

B2B marketing for humans | Atomicdust | Director of Marketing | Branding, content marketing, email & more

Atomicdust is looking to hire a new business developer—but don’t let that title fool you. This role probably won’t be a good fit for someone who’s used to call quotas or sales scripts. We want someone with drive and perseverance, sure, but they need to be obsessed with solving client challenges and pursuing big ideas that can change everything. We’re looking for someone who: -Has strong business acumen -Is fun to talk to -Can see the forest AND the trees (think Sam Heaton's strategic mind meets Erika Cruse's eye for details) -Loves design, branding and marketing -Has demonstrated sales success—or can convince us that their success outside of sales will easily translate DM me with questions about Atomicdust or the role. And please share this post if you know anyone who might be a good fit!

  • When true expertise meets thoughtful design, something remarkable happens. Secure Data Technologies, Inc. faced a common challenge: the company delivers cutting-edge tech solutions and is an industry leader. But their website didn't reflect their abilities or their reputation. So we built a site that translates complex services into clear business outcomes—with a sophisticated visual system, strategic copy and expandable structure. But first, we needed to build trust between the two teams. See more in the comments.

Trying to dominate a saturated industry can be an uphill battle, even with a superior product. InfoPlus Commerce needed to convey its differentiators to audiences. The solution? Creating a new category—a BETTER category—where InfoPlus could stake their claim. More than just a WMS, the InfoPlus Warehouse Management Ecosystem lets companies take control of their data, their warehousing and ultimately, their growth. But new positioning was just the first step in a holistic brand marketing approach. See the full process at the link in comments.

  • Raise a glass—or a coffee mug. We’re celebrating our always-learning, Wu-Tang Clan-quoting founder Mike Spakowski for being named to St. Louis Magazine's Business 500 list.

When I was 23, I started an agency with a strange name with some friends. I had no degree. No influential network. No rich parents. I was the back of the house. I didn’t know business. Or how to get clients. Or that “Net45” means that I might not have gas in my car for while. But I found this thing called design, and I had to chase it. And to quote RZA from Wu-Tang Clan, “Whether I went to school or not, I would always study." So study I did. To get better at design, I had to learn marketing. To get better at marketing, I had to learn branding. And to get better at branding, I had to learn business. My dad always told me that if you read more that five books on any subject, you’re an expert in that subject. I’ve read more books on business, creativity, marketing and self improvement than I care to share. This week I turn 49. And I thought my odds of being on those lists like “30 Under 30” were long gone by now, but I am very happy to be included the St. Louis Magazine 500 list. I recently heard someone describe a business as “just a set of problems,” and that could not be more true. But I’ve gotten this far with the help of great people, great books and being genuinely, unrelentingly interested in making great work. Thanks for reading. May you always have gas money. Update: All, thank you for all the support and nice comments. I'll come back to this post when I'm having rough day. Ah, graphic design. ❤️ 📷 : R.J. Hartbeck
