Studio Gang Aspen tree-inspired hotel ‘𝗣𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝘂𝘀’ opens its doors in Denver, Colorado. Now complete, the 265-room hotel is defined by its biophilic facade whose openings mimic the eye-shaped marks of the state’s beloved #Aspen trees. The 265-room design is being promoted as the first ‘carbon-positive’ hotel development in the United States and features a combination of highly sustainable building materials and offsetting strategies that target a LEED Gold certification. Situated on a prominent site that connects civic, arts, and commercial districts, Populus opens itself up to the city and the Rocky Mountains beyond, positioning itself to become a new downtown social center. The hotel, operated by @aparium, offers guests immersive views of the nearby State Capitol, Civic Center Park, and the Rocky Mountains. Windows in select rooms feature built-in seating, providing occupiable spaces where guests can feel closer to nature.
