Kintsugi Village Detroit breaks ground on a 40,000-sq-ft community hub, breathing new life and hope into the neighborhood. This innovative space will house an early childhood education center, artist incubator, and much more. Led by visionaries Paul Spiegelman and Hamsa Yaqo, this project joins other transformative developments like Michigan Central and Newlab in revitalizing the area. The Renick University Center has a bold new look 〽️ / The first floor of Renick University Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is officially open, unveiling a dynamic, branded space that welcomes students, faculty, and visitors to campus. Celebrating the retirement of Stephen J. Gedert, AIA, LEED AP / 41 Years of Leadership, Dedication, and Heart It’s impossible to think of Steve Gedert without recognizing his passion for serving others. As a Principal at Neumann/Smith, Steve played an invaluable role in shaping our firm’s legacy through his leadership, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. With a community-first mindset, Steve became our go-to for recreation center projects—not just for his expertise but for his genuine dedication to the people he designed for. His work helped solidify Neumann/Smith’s highly regarded reputation in this sector. Beyond community spaces, Steve was entrusted with some of our most complex and high-profile projects, including the Sparrow Hospital renovation, Galleria Officentre, and the DTE Energy campus. His meticulous attention to detail and hands-on approach made him a dependable leader and a mentor to many. But Steve’s impact goes far beyond his impressive portfolio. His warmth filled our office—whether he was sharing a lesson learned, a piece of Neumann/Smith history, or a cherished photo of his grandson. His presence left a lasting impression on every corner of our firm. Steve, we will miss you greatly! Thank you for sharing your heart with our team for 41 years.
