Community Arts Connection was graced by the sounds of Eastman School of Music’s Amber Piano Quartet today. The quartet played samples of each instrument, the violin, viola, cello, and piano, and asked each of CAC’s artists what they imagined in their heads as the music was playing. Thank you to these amazing musicians for gifting us this opportunity to explore the sounds of the instruments and the art it creates in our minds!

Ladonna knows how to get the morning started right! Her daily combination? A little French toast and Michael Jackson to get Crossroads residents up and moving before their day at program. Check out our latest staff edition of On the Daily with Ladonna: https://lnkd.in/etJY-XW7

This week we were honored to welcome The Arc New York CEO Erik Geizer to The Arc of Monroe! We took Erik on a whirlwind tour to see our two new homes on Long Pond Road in Greece; tour ArcWorks, our contract manufacturing facility (where he got to honor Gloria, who was celebrating her 44th year with The Arc); as well as a stop at Community Arts Connection, our day hab specializing in the arts. Thank you, Erik – we appreciate all you and The Arc New York team do to support people with disabilities in the state!

Last week Arc Alliance self advocates met with Maria Torgalski, the Director -Region 1 Regional Field Office within NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) at the March meeting. Self advocates had an open dialog with Maria, asking questions to learn about the state’s supports and services and learning more about what’s new with OPWDD. Thank you, Maria, for taking time out of your busy day to stop by! Arc Alliance is a self advocacy group organized by The Arc of Monroe that is comprised of people with disabilities. The group meets monthly to talk about the latest issues that people with disabilities face in their communities, as well as practical solutions to bring meaningful change.
