It was indeed a fruitful conference event organized by Asia Healthcare Week! Really happy to note on the amazing feedback received for our fireside chat sharing sessions yesterday! A quick snapshot on what I and Yvonne Vyonne Yap had discussed key aspects of the nursing job market in Asia at the Asia Healthcare Week event: -Trends and Challenges: Growing demand due to aging populations and healthcare advancements. Seasonal demand fluctuations and workforce shortages pose significant challenges. -Recruitment and Retention Strategies: Public hospitals focus on competitive salaries and career development. Private hospitals emphasize performance incentives and supportive cultures. Government initiatives enhance recruitment and retention efforts. -Skills and Workforce Gaps: Emphasis on continuous education, certifications, and advocacy for diversity. In Conclusion: Collaboration is crucial for innovation in recruitment, retention strategies, and professional development. Continued dialogue is essential for building a resilient nursing workforce to meet evolving healthcare needs in Asia. Thank you once again to Asia Healthcare Week for this opportunity, and we look forward to continuing these vital conversations and initiatives in the future. Together, we can build a brighter future for healthcare in Asia. #nursing #Singapore #nursingretention
Finishing of Nursing Care with our final fireside chat of the day as Lilian Yew and Yvonne Vyonne Yap took us through to understand the dynamic nursing market and seasonal demand and the skill / workforce gaps in different areas of Nursing.

‼️ Finally ‼️ I have seen a lot of sectors convening to discuss nursing workforce challenges. Interestingly enough, do you know who is ALWAYS missing? Frontline nursing. As a friendly reminder, if you are having conversations about a group of people without members of that group present, be weary of the solutions you come up with. If you want to understand why nurses are leaving clinical spaces, ask clinical nurses. If you want to understand the challenges faced by nursing faculty, ask nursing faculty. If you want to understand why prospective nursing students are choosing different professional paths, ask high-schoolers and college undergraduate students. Be diligent about your strategy to capture potential solutions to address and meet the needs of your most important stakeholders. I’m not a betting woman, but I’d bet this is a far better approach than excluding the very people you’re looking to target. I appreciate the ANA-MI approach to engage the people closest to the problem to elucidate a solution inclusive of the people they aim to reach. #frontlinenursing #nursingworkforce #healthcare
