  • 🌀 Our team was thrilled to attend the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans this week to connect with and learn from emergency management leaders from across the country — all working together to strengthen hurricane preparedness and response. As we reflect on the 20-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, we honor the lessons learned, the lives forever changed and the progress made since. With the 2025 hurricane season on the horizon, we remain committed to building stronger, safer communities.

  • 🌪️ Across the country, severe spring storms have left a trail of devastation in their wake, but families are not facing the future alone. Ten dedicated Louisiana volunteers have joined 1,200+ trained Red Cross responders to support relief efforts in communities impacted by tornadoes, flooding and powerful storms.   • Today, Louisiana volunteers Tommy Smith and Thomas Butler deployed to Kentucky to support a massive multi-state relief effort in the South and Midwest after thousands of families were pummeled by relentless floods and tornadoes. Tommy and Thomas join more than 600 trained Red Crossers who are working with partners to provide safe shelter, nutritious meals and emergency supplies. We thank them for providing critical support and serving as a beacon of hope in the wake of this disaster. ⛑️ The Red Cross has an urgent need for volunteers as we face continuous, often concurrent, disaster responses.
